Hope this turns out well for you.
Will follow with interest.
You're not the only one lol. It is indeed "ironick" that after all the efforts to improve the pub and the clientele that its causing the neighbours the most problems.
Most of this could have been avoided I'm sure with a bit of consideration.
I may go in with a mate of mine who smokes in a bit, it'll give me a chance to take some photos of my house

Well I had another look and took some photos of my place. I wasn't quite accurate with one of my posts as I've noticed that 1 of the sets of gates will now swing both ways. This doesnt stop it clashing/covering my window when open though. The other has not been altered.

Interesting images.
It looks like the roof was suppose to be fully covered and to try and fit around the smoking ban they have left half of it off. Have you got the plans yet?I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Great photos, Paul.
Totally illegal for smoking in, absolutely no question. Doesn't matter whether they fill the other half of the roof in or not, your man at the council will soon put them right once you let him know. I'm sure Punch must know this really.0 -
Hi,
I found a copy of the plans using the loacal authoritys explorer service. They appear to show the roof as being complete but its hard to tell as the hatched area may be indicating the slabbing they have had done.
The plans also indicate that they have sloped ground away from the pub to aid drainage as well as disabled access, this now means it will naturally run towards next door instead.
How I am meant to be able to maintain my property with the posts that close is another issue too?0 -

I do so hope soalthough people will still of course be able to drink there
As for the Punch manager I'm not sure, he is apparently new to the job. Their approved inspectors on the other hand  I know who they are too now

I think as constructed there is no doubt it is a substantially enclosed premises. However, I do wonder that if the wooden roof beams were terminated at the end of the roof glazing it might then be acceptable as a smoking shelter. Of course that might have planning implications.
Such premises will require "No smoking" notices at the entrance/exits which would be the responsibility of the landlord.
There is a hotline for grassing up offenders.0 -

That is my worry if they change it to suit. Then again it fails numerous guidelines on smoking shelters, proximity, smoke, light pollution. These are not law though as I can make out?
Do you know where the hotline number is available?0 -
Smokefree compliance line 0800 587 1667
Complaints are just referred to the appropriate local council but you can remain anonymous.0 -

This picture seems to show they've knocked a chunk off your wall to fit the horizontal cross-beam."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
