hey applemuncher.
yes please for number 8. had a disasterous holiday in Rome which ended up in us missing our flight home, booking a night in a hotel, a taxi from one airport to the other, new flights home and then a taxi from birmingham to east midlands to pick up the bongo.
As a result, money is going to be very tight for the next few months.
Also my excuse for having not been online yet. Absolutley shattered and still working via the mobile phone.
Thanks for keeping number 8 for me.

Hi All,
Not a SFD today as needed milk and a few bits but only spent a little over £8 so not bad.
Budgets are as follows:
SFD's - 1/15 - Sorry not the full 20 as I work better on little but often. If I try to plan too far in advance I buy bits 'just in case'
Griceries - £150 - have been running the freezer down so will need to stock up on some items
Pets - £60 - 5 dogs, 3 chickens & 1 parrot
Birthdays/Social - £150 - This should be under budget but I do have Dads birthday and we are taking him and his OH out for a meal.
Apple Muncher I was hoping you wouldn't ask the price of the Vitamix - Don't tell anyone but I didn't have much change from £500 BUT in my defence I don't buy very much AND I have wanted one for the last 4 or 5 years AND we are now using it every day. It makes hot chocolate and coffees that rival the big coffee shop chains. I've also made a soup in it from scratch in just over 5 minutes. Okay I know it was extra agent but I love it
I am still working on my motivation etc and will post it when completed.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Hello stewby - glad you are joining us. Bummer about Rome. Take care x
CEW - well done on owning up to the price! Now, I guess you MUST get your money's worth... Price per brew/drinl/soup...?
Well dome nannygladys on the flask amd hm goodies. Each time you do that, you save a fortune by not going into a coffee shop.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hello, just a quick check in to declare my first SFD. I spent the whole morning in bed, recovering from 3 night shifts. The afternoon was spent at a choir practice and didn't get home til after 8pm. We were so hungry by the time we got home and we were sorely tempted to pick up the phone and ring the good old friendly Indian. And I am so proud of myself for resisting the temptation. We got by by a quick and easy meal that involves a tin opener. May this be the first of many SFD's."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150

Morning everyone
Sorry stewby about RomeBob, you are so right, this is really about my ex.
Today will be another spend day, I have to get a tool kit for the laminate which came yesterday and very nice too. I also need to get a cake from m&$ . Just finishing touches now to hallway, so should be finished soon. Stewby can you reclaim the taxes for your missed flight?
Well take care everyone and have a good Sunday:):A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Yesterday i wrote two posts on here and lost them both
They basically said that my motivation is -
Children and saving for the things i want/need instead of getting into debt for them. I'm usually fine with not using credit cards etc until xmas! Theres such an awful pressure at xmas.
Paying off debt has been a problem recently and its been minimum payments a lot of the time. Im trying to make sure that im not in my overdraft every month before i make extra payments, as its really expensive.
May 1st was a sfd, yesterday wasnt as i needed milk for us and blue milk for the baby.
My budget for may is - £500 (5 week month)
Broken down as £50 a week food, me, dh, dd and 2 monsters.
Petrol £30 a week (wont need it all unless i work extra shifts, and i claim it all back in expenses)
Other - £20
I save separately for insurance, birthdays, hair cuts etc, and obviously theres my bills to come out.
It will be tight in the 'other' bracket but we'll see how it goes!
Im going to pull £100 out of the bank every tues, when dh gets paid, and live on that.
Ive already got enough meals for about a week and a half so that'll help the £50 budget.
So day 3 - and hopefully a sfd!!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Stewby -what a horrible shame for you. As Traveller says above I think you are now entitled to claim if your flight is over a certain amount of time late. Was it a lovely experience up to then?
Littleskintdragon - snap. I had the same lost post thing the other day it is very annoying isn't it." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Good morning!
Yesterday was a spendy day but it's tipping down so I'm hunkering down with wedding prep for an NSD. I made my £5 food bank donation yesterday with goods rather than cash. I don't know if it's silly but the only value stuff I put in there was stuff I'd have myself. They probably got a little less as a result but I didn't think putting value veg that was in salt water was a good idea...I don't know, any opinions?
Our whole wedding and honeymoon has come in at under £2k. We need to do so much on the house and with only one income coming in we just couldn't justify spending money we don't have.
So my answer to me time. I seem to waste a lot of time and get nothing done, ever. I lament not having me time then spend hours staring mindlessly at the Internet. So, instead of doing that all evening after dinner I will read, or catch up with my letters, or journal. Just no internet for at least half an hour before bed
Well done everyone on your NSD so far!
Lilt - that's terrible about the 3 year old! 40k is a scary amount of cash on one day... That's half the cost of my house!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
Greetings everyone,
I've kicked off the month with two spendy days as my boyfriend came to visit me and we went out in Oxford on Friday night and all of Saturday afternoon, so that's dented the entertainment budget a bit!
I'm hoping for a NSD (or low spend day) today to make up for it. We're meeting in London tomorrow though for a day out so will have to try hard to avoid too many expensive drinks and meals out. Think I might take my own sandwiches! And we're going to the Natural History Museum and Science Museum (both free) so that should cut costs a bit.
I've paid £675 towards the debts this week so pleased with that.
Entertainment budget now £47.15/£150.00Starting 2016 debt-free
Emergency Fund: £350/£10000
