well, can anyone serious tell me how much would the repair of a regular flat could cost? the various types of repairs? come on, even traders have fixed price lists! and nobody has ever done repair to his flat?0

It depends on what you want. A Kitchen replacement could cost £1500 or £15000 - it comes down to size, finish, who you hire to do it, or whether you do it yourself.
If refurbishing, say, a 2-bed flat with an average sized kitchen, I would probably budget:-
Kitchen £5000
Bathroom £1500
Redecoration £1000
Flooring £1500 for carpet, £2500+ for wood flooring
Light electrical refurb £250+labour (I would do this myself)0 -
thanks, very useful, but I am basically interested in other stuff too
for example I don't have problem with an old kitchen or bathroom, if it is functional, or I don't need to redecodate an old fashioned house
but I am looking and worried about stuff like this:
rotten from moisture walls and ceilings
rotten from rust etc sewage drainage or water drinking tubes0 -
As a flat owner, you are only responsible for the plumbing inside your property. If the sewage or mains water pipes need refurbishment that is likely to be a problem that the freeholder will resolve, though all flat-owners may have to contribute to the cost.
Damp can be caused by a huge variety of things. A professional company would need to find the cause and rectify it. In some circumstances (e.g. water leaks from another flat) the freeholder or other flat-owner would bear or share responsibility.0
