So, Igor, here am I, trying to recover from two consecutive nights spent in the pursuit of pecuniary gains, managing incidentally to bring my NSD total to 3 in the process, and what is my reward? Do I see a fabulous hot bath, oodles of champagne, chocolates, fluffy towels, clean sheets etc etc? No, I am greeted by you and Chef sulking away, Hubert lying down in a darkened room sobbing away, Father Jack sleeping, drinking and effing in my favourite armchair, Mrs Doyle buttering yet another mountain of egg sandwiches, and the Good Ole Boys smirking away like smirky things, convinced they have been chosen to represent us at the song contest!
And where are the NSD gang members responsible for this fiasco? What are we going to do ? And why is marmite curled up in a corner of her room, gibbering away? One life - your life - live it!0 -

I did it! NSD 3.
And Marmite, thanks, I am talking to my children. They do understand to a degree. But life and income has changed massively from three years ago (marriage to their dad ended) and I kept on trying to keep spending like we did. That didn't go so well. I've been reading a lot of Mr Money Moustache and other frugalistas and I like the sea change we are going through. Think they do too, but they will take time to adjust. I talked to them about this no spend challenge and they were really good about it, interested in why people get together online to support each other and daughter quickly adjusted her plan to get me to go buy chicken for supper and we used the mince I had got out of the freezer. Freezer is nearly empty now.Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950

We look foward to seeing you on bake off next series
Pollygarter well done talking to the kids and getting them onboard, I'm sure some of what they learn will do them good in later life. Kids also love a challenge (well some do) and like to be involved so hopefully you can all work to the target together.
Flipping broadband went down here yesterday afternoon and was out all night  amazing how much time I spend online, although me and OHdid resort to mobile data in the end, guess life is geared up to the Internet these days. Small spend here....oh, apart from haircut. Got a bit of food in lidl, £18 to top us up, freezer pretty full, fridge ok, and cupboard not too bad. Amazing how much we can do without buying when it's simply not stocked in store.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

In my defence,I have not spent the whole time gibbering away.Oh no.I was straight on the blower to speak to the local fuzz.As a result, thanks to the hard work and excellent detective skills of PC Plod and Detective Inspector Swindle, they have uncovered a shocking tale of skulduggery and bribery involving arch rivals Bad Attitude that mean that they are most likely to be disqualified!
Yes,you heard right. The Two Fathers could still represent Bwitain, though unfortunately they never got to sing their song as they were supposed to on the night - due to unforeseen circumstances, the details of which I prefer not to divulge, due to my weak constitution.
It looks likely that The Fathers will be asked to perform on Monday night in a TV special, which doesn't leave us a lot of time for preparation. The panel still have to decide if the song is up to stratch.
More updates tomorrow,of course.
Meanwhile Knit Witch,in case Igor never finds his extra lucky unmentionables (which I'm sure were stolen by Bad Attitude deliberately),could you possibly speed knit him a new pair?Thank you.You are a life saver!
PS don't forget the embroidered flowers.0 -
So as the sun sets on Ennessdee Towers, we can relax in the knowledge that the good old British bobby has saved the day again. Bad Attitude are, even as we speak, being ferried off to one of Her Majesty' s establishments - of course, we know they are really the Good Ole Boys in disguise! Who did they think they were kidding? What other band you know start to hyperventilate at the sight of stilettos and handcuffs?
Have some honey and lemon, Igor, get that voice in training! And Chef....You can stop dribbling now, the Two Fathers ( or should that be Our Fathers, being religious and all that?) are back in business! One life - your life - live it!0 -
Pollygarterwell done on getting #3.
I'm glad for you that your kids are getting involved.
It can take a long time to get used to a change in circumstances.Good luck.
Nargle as we speak Igor is running you a bath and adding some [STRIKE]noxious[STRIKE][/STRIKE][/STRIKE] sweet smelling aromatherapy bath oils,Mrs Doyle has found a bottle of fizzy pop which will have to make do as champagne and Cheffie is busy whipping up a lovely chocolate moose.Mrs Doyle has a few more egg sandwiches in the fridge if you're still feeling peckish.
As for fluffy towels - sorry but that's just stretching it a bit.We do have fluffy slippers though. Will that do?
Well done on #3.
muffin man 7 yay to #8! :j
Gem-gem oops,I awarded you with your 5 in a row by mistake.
well done for #5. :cool:0 -

I'll try and hold off the nervous collapse until after Monday's performance.
Just now I need to order some more extra strong donkey flesh coloured nappies.A pack of 25 doesn't last long, especially given Hubert's artistic temperament.
I wonder how Cheffie's truss will hold up?0 -
A quick tot up of the front page reveals that we have 111 nsds and, with 26 of us actively taking part,we have an average of 4.3 nsds each.
Not bad.0
