Well, the nation holds it's breath.Tomorrow is D-day;the battle of the bands.
You,the people will decide.Ta-daaaaaa!
That's right, tomorrow 'Father Swedish Chef and Father Igor' battle it out with arch rivals 'Bad Attitude' aka' The Good Ole Boys' to see who will proudly represent Great Britain at Eurovision.
Now I heard Cheffie belting it out in the shower this morning, well I think it was him singing, though a screech owl could hold a tune better. He's definitely improving. He's looking very dandy.
Meanwhile Igor has his hair in curlers and has taken to carrying a bottle of whisky round with him.I don't know if he'll sleep tonight. We might have to sedate him.
Hubert could not be on better form. He's had a donkey manicure/pedicure,his mane teased and primped like you wouldn't believe and, best of all,we've found some donkey flesh tone nappies for tomorrow, though of course he'll be wearing his lucky ra ra skirt.
What could possibly go wrong now?0 -

Sounds like everyone's doing really well with their NSDs!
Unfortunately, we're still on 2 for the month, but lunch is packed and ready to take to work tomorrow, the car is full of petrol and we have absolutely no need to spend so, fingers crossed, we can add a third day to our total!
In other news, did our first fully menu planned food shop after a stock take of the cupboards, fridge and freezer and am happy to report a £21 saving on the previous week! Not much, but it all adds up and we're definitely getting there
Well done there Frugal_life and well done on the £21 saving. :j0 -
Oh dear, I think letting The Good Ole Boys get involved could be a mistake. There will be arguments when Hubert "borrows"" their stilettos (bit of a kleptomaniac, is our Hubert), and they will be trying to drown out Igor and Swedish Chef's version of My Lovely Horse with their number, a thrash metal version of Land of Hope and Glory.
Mrs Doyle has already started on the catering, much to Chef and Igor's disgust - they don't like competition in the kitchen. She has already tipped all the NSDs out of the Cauldron of Doom so she can use it as a giant tea urn. Hence the lorryload of tea bags parked out front.
Bert Scroggins, in his alter-alter ego of Dirk Dynamo, film director extraordinaire, is already wittering about how terrible the light in here is, dahlings......methinks a disaster is waiting to happen...One life - your life - live it!0 -
marmite pressure cookers scare the bejesus out of me too - my FIL has / had one he used to cook mince in. That said, they're so flipping big too.
Well my spends aren't tooooo hideous atm. £4 yesterday but that was on sauce for OH from the 99p shop, a travel plug for DM also 99p, a splatter guard from the £1 shop for when i fry (not sure how long that will last) ande some plughole unblocker. Wild eh?!
Today I did go suitcase shopping with DM (her not me) but came out with two sports tops for £23 - whoops. I love one but think I need the next size up, and while I like the other one which fits easier, I think I prefer the other one ....so they might both go back.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

NSD1 for me yesterday. Not sure I'll manage it today - I meant to make a cake for our church craft group, which meets this evening, but forgot last night so now I'll have to buy one!
In a shock development today there was NO CAKE at the craft group this evening. Because I ran out of time even to buy one!
But the good news is that this meant I had another NSD - NSD2Declutter our home in 2024

Good morning! :hello:
Our beloved Swedish Chef, whose thoughts are always centred on the hungry masses, was up to all hours making piles of doughnuts for all of us.You can see him in action here.
Despite getting virtually no sleep,Cheffie is looking is cool, calm and collected as ever.He is surrounded by a group of fans and is spouting forth on the best way to make Swedish Meatballs, though all I can make is 'chicky chicky' and the usual 'bork, bork, bork'.The rest is gibberish.
Igor is feeling in rare form, despite being made up to look like a painted doll by Mrs.Doyle and with a hairstyle that makes him look like he's been dragged through a bush backwards.
Let's just hope that he finds his Extra Lucky (Silk Embroidered by Dearest Mamma) Unmentionables, otherwise he might not be able to sing. He's very superstitious.
Hubert has spent the last two hours being strapped into an extra strong nappy.I think it's a tad premature,as they go on stage in the early evening, and I'm sure it'll have to be changed.Sorry if TMI.
His trip to the horse/donkey dentist was a great success ....though I hear that the dentist has since been signed off on extended leave...oh dear.
I am also very concerned about The Good Ole Boys being in the vicinity....disaster is never far behind.
And having Bert Scroggins aka Dirk Dynamo around is just asking for trouble.
I wonder what the rest of the day shall bring?0 -

Well done there Seaotter!
Ah kerri I've got one of those splatter guard things that I've never used.Shame I couldn't just give it to you.
scotmum I'm sure he'll never forget the song again. :rotfl:0 -
Oh,and I might just add that today is being proudly declared as #7.I'm tempted to buy a second hand book on Amazon, but it'll have to wait.
This month my weekly grocery budget runs from Thursday to Wednesday,so I now have some money to my hot, little hands. As long as I keep within budget though,it doesn't count as a spend.
There's one shop there that doubles your loyalty points on a Thursday,so I might have a wander down.Mind you,I'm not sure that I need anything though.Maybe some veg,as I don't have any fresh veg in.
Oh,what an exciting life.
Anything to take my mind off the forthcoming Battle Of The Bands.Igor is not the only one under heavy sedation.0 -
