Actually DFW wannabe post a little late this evening but been reading throughout the day. Had a really good night at work last night, the band were amazing (free entertainment, as I don't have to pay to go out) just before close up had a dos from the nightclub in our group (my first pub I worked in) they were unbelievable busy and no staff due to everyone working a big function earlier in the day. So zoomed up there after closing and worked til 4am, good night though and a little bit more e tea cash :-D worked some o/time today, however no one was put on with me for the football! I survived though!

~ ys veg - enough for the whole week and may have to freeze some
    ~ checked banking/emails
~ used free calls to catch up with sister and friend
~ £8 tips last night (only £5 in jar at mo but will put in £3 once I've got my wages)
~ paid £25 off cc, was gona hold for a while but I think a few little extra payments will be ok whilst waiting to see what's happening with money
~ tv off and played with little ones in the garden
~ check dd's and council tax full payment hasten cancelled so hopefully somthing happening their if dd no longer going out
~ arranged a night out for next sat, Northern soul. Worked the last 8 so I think I'm due one
~ going to have a quick tidy up and prep everything ready for tomorrow

FVD - Yes, I know the couple you mean. I would say she's older than me. Definitely posher......& although I love their house, mine is an extremely modest 3-bedroomed 1930s semi. I am much louder than she is & am a bit of a drama queen if things go wrong. I also swear quite a lot so am more like Steph in that respect, lol, though not as posh, & Mr f thankfully doesn't own any hideous mustard coloured trousers!

Ziggy - just heading off to bed but I couldn't read your post and not reply. I am so sorry your mum is behaving like this. Does she have even half a clue about your recent health problems? I just can't believe she wouldn't cherish you more given what you went through. Although she is old, she is also your mum and should protect you not hurt. Your immediate family sounds warm and loving and your whole world. I would continue to do what you can but remember it's the family you made with your husband and son that matter most. Night x

    Hi Ziggy

Sorry to hear you'd reach boiling point xx. It's awful when you are made to feel guilty - but you have no reason to

One thing you could do more of is put some of this on your brothers. While you get on with it, they don't have to

    Hugs xx

Thanks for the welcome Bobarella. I'm not great with a diary but something like this is great

Today I had an NSD, did a wash load and lunch at My Mum's and then hung it on the line. I did some crafty stuff and I think Mr Shortie has secured some cheap, new bathroom fittings for when we decorate post-building work

Have prepped tomorrows beeakfast and think there are leftovers in the fridge for work

Will find you all on tomorrow's new thread - good night all xx

Hi Ziggy, just catching up on last nights posts, I agree with what the others have said, the more you do the more is expected. I too would try talking to your brothers, you've got nothing to lose xxx

  • Ziggy, WBF is unfortunately correct. I worked in a care home to fund my studies years ago and this was so common. And 99 times out of 100, it was a female sibling that got the short end of the stick. I'm my parents' only daughter and I worry about this as my mum has already said quote 'Daughters always get held to higher standards than son's. It's perfectly natural.'
It might help if you can talk to others in a similar position, perhaps get in touch with a carers charity. It's a horrible situation to be in, you'll end up resenting her very quickly. It's definitely good to talk about it.
