    Hi Everyone

Been absent from website so long and not even been able to check in and read all your money savings stuff.

    Benefits of being ill:
Have spent 3 days in all april, this being 3 home delivery orders.
    So 22 NSD's .
£72 a week income from DHSS!

    Bad things about being ill:
    £72 a week from DHSS
    No income
Feel poorly and miss my MSE friends and real life.

I am resolved to get my body back under control, had demylination of spine after flu, and to get back to normal working life. AND to get back to money savings with you inspirational people.

Hope you are all well and avoid the flu.
    Maria:)

    Morning all!

    My plan for today:

Leftover curry for lunch, our voucher was for a bit more than we would usually spend but not enough to split into 2 takeaways so we just ordered one extra dish so we had leftovers for today.

I need to clean my car as I am taking my mum and one of her friends to the local Harvester and the back of my car has the beginnings of a car boot sale into it. My mum is paying so it will be no sped for me except maybe some petrol. DH is doing a gig in East London, I would have liked to go to this one as I like the headline band but it's a hit of a trek, I spend all week commuting so come the weekend I just want to stay local.

I need to give one of the cats her flea drops (thanks for the reminder!) I already have them and try to remember to always do its on payday but forgot this month and she's got a few scabs as she has a flea allergy. The other cat reacts really badly to the flea treatment and seems to go into a deep depression and starts just peeing where she is sitting so we can't treat her but luckily they hate each other and have different territories and she doesn't seem to be troubled with fleas at the moment.

I will probably get a call from my DS at some point wanting money put into his account for the weekend. We are still waiting on notification of his NI number again so he can get a job but realistically the only type of job he's likely to get and keep at the moment is waitering and he's not 18 until the end of the summer so can't do that anywhere that serves alcohol.

DH has just got a message on FB to say that my friend in Australia is coming over in a few weeks and wants to meet up so that will be something nice to look forward to. I think I will cash in some clubcard points to take them for lunch at the nice chef and brewer pub nearby.

My Cosmos seeds are definitely germinating even though I planted them straight out and the bubble wrap has long been blown away. There's not much happening on the bagged up Aquilegia seeds, I swear they'd have done better on their own.

The other house in my road is now on RM. it's on at the same asking price and is really similar to ours in configuration. Only differences are their garden is bigger but we have a downstairs loo and UR and theirs is terraced and ours is SD. I will be interested to see what it goes for and if our buyers have had enough of my dilly dallying and jump ship!

I have been daydreaming about upping sticks and going to the Isle of Wight, which I love. There's no way we could do it as my mum and the Inlaws are here and so are DH's kids plus all of DS's friends are here. I did however find a commercial property in Shanklin that we could afford to buy outright that had a 2 bed flat above a guitar shop (for DH to run!) with an office at the side for me (or knock whole through to the street and sell ice creams in the summer - or both!) Just dreams though, we got our fingers burned on our last foray into setting up a business and I spend my life trying to think of get rich quick schemes and always come back to realising that nothing is ever going to pay me more than just going to work!

Have a lovely weekend all !

Afternoon all. I'm an attempting MFW rather than DFW (though really, a mortgage is just a huge debt, lol) and trying to restrict me spending rather than waste it.

Primary goal is to fund the decorating once our building work has finished, and then over pay the mortgage

Anyway, now the introduction is out of the way, thigs for today:

    - Start decluttering the paperwork pile
    - Do one or two wash loads at my Mum's (not for moneysaving reasons, more a necessity as the washing machine can't be plumbed in)
    - Work out what breakfasts I can have at work from stores, rather than hit Mr T to buy things in
    - Spend and afternoon with my Mum and MiL, and am hopin they're happy to stay indoors as it means a NSD for me if I also avoid Mr T for breakfast bits
    - Dinner from stores, even if it's just cheese or beans on toast
    - Hang as much washing indoors as I can. It's rainy here but trying to avoid using the tumble drier

Here's to trying to break spendy habits. Have a good day all

I am a bit of a Kat Von D fan and, at the time I registered here we were watching reruns of Miami ink where she was a bit heavier than she was by the time they filmed LA Ink. I commented to DH that she was more Fat Von D in those days and it was in my head when it registered and I didn't plan on being quite such a regular here then and being lumbered with it! So, my name isn't actually Von or VonD and, while I AM overweight I'm 'only' a size 18 and not quite as enormous as the name suggests!

PS I only have one tattoo (inner forearm) but it's quite big, I took all that 'go big or go home' stuff to heart! It's quite fabulous though, having been obsessed with the programmes and arty myself I spent ages choosing the artist and I'm really flattered that she has it on her website (which is more than can be said for the woman getting a frog after me!)
