Hi Bob! The Virgin CC is now at approx £2200as a result of my pads and outstanding balance of the Zopa loan is about £2300, so my balance on the credit card would be £4500. My limit is £5K

I think if it were me I'd want to run some scenarios like if the washing machine breaks down I could do X if the car needs fixing Y before I commited..because is it worth the saving if your peace of mind is ruined for months on end? But it sounds like Kirsty May have some good advice from her experience too. Ultimately you have to be comfortable with your choice.

  • I am so grateful for this thread!

If not for PADding I think I would be right back at square one, or even more in debt than I am now!

I love the fact that there is no judgement, only support and guidance (plus the occasional llama eh Erme?)

So a big thank you to everone here for keeping it going and PADding, however large or small!

No PAD from me again today - all remaining money in bank is earmarked for the last 2 direct debits so won't be any PADs unless I can snaffle new money from somewhere. However, like to keep up with the thread regardless as it is so motivational. In particular today I wanted to say thank you to rsdiscos for today's quote as it really sums up what PADding is all about - not the big changes of Martin's Money Makeover that we often do when we first have an LBM but the small consistent changes that become part of our new lifestyle - who would think that just trying to salt away little extras here and there would make such a difference but this thread is proof that it does.

And rsdiscos - personally I would do the transfer although Bob makes a very valid point.
Nice to see you back Erme.
