Why cant I win?

I haven't won anything for over a year. And I enter thousands.0

There are several comping groups on FB at the moment. It's really taken off in the last few months again. I'm hoping it's a phase and all these people who think they've found a new hobby will realise they have to enter around 1000 comps to get so much as a £100 voucher from somewhere. Really, it's not worth the effort when you think about it, but most of us long-termers are now addiced
Once every 5000-10000 comps entered, you'll get a biggieMy wins are very much like that, on an 'average' basis. It's extremely rare I'll have a good day / week / month. My wins tend to be pretty evenly spaced out.

I'd have to disagree with the figures here. I haven't taken part in any of the challenges so don't keep a proper tally but I'd estimate that in a normal, not-too-busy-with-other-stuff, week, I enter about 700 comps** So I'd be winning a £100 voucher about every other week by those numbers, and a "biggie" about every 10 weeks! As I posted further up the thread, my biggest win in the past 12 months has been an £80 voucher, and in spite of me entering as many comps as before or even more, my wins are getting both far less frequent and far smaller prizes.
I know there is no exact science to numbers, and it's all down to luck, but I think the "one win for every 1000 comps" average is way out of date - might have been the case a few years ago but there are so many more people at it now that it seems more like one win for every 10,000 entries!!!
**the 700 weekly figure does not include mag dailies, I see each of those as one competition only no matter whether I enter it 30 times or not. I reckon I enter about 100 stand alone comps most days.0 -
If people were truthful then they would give the true reason for this lack of wins.
There are too many, who will remain nameless, who are never content with what they win and continue to enter every comp going irrespective of whether the prize would enrich their life or not.
This year apart from the Land Rover and £30.000 I won in February and the villa in the Algarve I won in March there have been absolutely no wins for me so far in April. Not even a DVD to play on the Home Cinema and 50 inch TV I won In January.
If it wasn't for all the selfish people on here then perhaps the rest of us would have a chance.0 -

I must average 50-100 a day, so prob around 1k-3k a month.
I get something every month or two, and a relatively big win on average every 3-4 months or so.
Weirdly, I said the same figures on a comping FB group the other week/month, and someone said that was way out, you average a decent win every 500 comps or so lol. Most seemed to agree with that, or say the odds were even better!
Some are luckier than others, I guess... Didn't think I was that lucky, but it seems I do better than some... still trying to win a holiday! Not happened yet in nearly 6 years! Others seem to win 3 a year lol.

Why shouldn't they? Surely, unless they're cheating, their chances are the same as everyone else's? That's like saying someone earns more than someone else so they shouldn't enter. Or you can't do the lottery ever again after a big win...

PS No, I'm not one of them lol.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
I don't enter very many competitions at all outside of twitter, where I RT a lot just due to the ease. April has been very good for me; 5 wins in total with a bigger win, and I usually get at least 2 wins each month. If anything I enter less now than I ever have and I continue to enter less and less, so I think it just shows that it really is chance and entering a lot of competitions doesn't necessarily mean you will win something.0

I have also recently re-started comping again and have been for last three months, used to win a few things each month but not won anything since re-starting. but not worried just the chance to win is exciting enough for me. been sent a few free samples which is always nice.
but know it can be a bit disappointing but keep going.0 -
