I use vinegar (as I think it is anti bacterial) mixed with water and washing up liquid to clean mine so perhaps vinegar and water may be ok?

    I normally use white vinegar.
  • I am another who has used washing powder in the past you don't need a lot just a teaspoon dissolved in hot water then rinse well. Cuts through grease like a dream.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Star drops is ok. Read the back of bottle.

Stardrops but only a few drops on the sponge and rinse well.

    Stardrops cleans anything and everything!

What I do is when the bottle gets down to about a third, fill the rest with water and keep using. It dilutes the liquid sure, but people often overuse the liquid anyway, you only need a few drops even for a full sink full, I find a diluted solution the right amount and not wasting as much.

Do the same with my shower spray.
Squeeze the pennies out of everything ;)
  • Stardrops or washing powder is fine. So is shampoo or hand soap.

not washing powder!! it leaves residue and makes your plates/mugs taste and smell funny however well rinsed. None of those things will dissolve the grease which is what wupl does.

I'd go get some more tbh.. you can get the really cheap crappy stuff that costs a few pence just don't look at anything else in the shop!

It does take a bit of extra rinsing :D

Talking of stinky dishes, I had that problem with the pink Fairy liquid. I couldn't get the smell off despite lots of rinsing. Yuk.

I'm another one who remembers pre- Squeezy and Fairy liquid days. I vaguely remember a red plastic mesh stick which my mother used to put soap ends in. A quick swish in the washing up water provided enough soapiness for the job. Does anyone else remember these? I'm thinking that I'm sure we could make something similar these days with all of the plastic containers we have at our disposal?
