afternoon all.
not been here for ages, my os ways have fallen by the wayside, but i need to get back to it.
DH has started a new job 8 weeks ago and we are still adjusting to a monthly pay packet as he used to be paid 4 weekly before.
off to the opthamoloist later as my DD may have a lazy eye, not too worried to be honest. most people in my family wear glasses (except me!), so kind of expected somesort of eye problems.
preserved some garlic yesterday and my house now stinks and nothing seems to be getting rid of the stench!!0 -
Annie, MG is Myasthenia gravis, (sorry) its a blood disorder where not enough oxygen gets to her muscles, and she tires easily, has to have lots of rest, has double vision sometimes, or trouble swallowing, theres a lot of symptoms, some can come and go.
She isn't supposed to get upset, but does. I've told her before that its up to her to decide what to get uspet over or not, she has tendency to blame the person she gets upset with if they tell her something she doesn't like, for example. 'You KNOW I'm not supposed to get upset so why did you say xxxxx' type of thing. (Also expects people to go along with what she wants and agree with her) So we often dont' say things she may get upset over but then the straw that breaks the camels back etc. and off we go again. I actually haven't spoken to this sister since the end of Jan. after a big hoohaa after my Dad died (not her dad). They live in Canada, all this is long distance family carp.
I certainly wasn't expecting to hear about 3 deaths back there when I called yesterday; will call my other sister tonight and see how she is.0 -
Back from the lottie, phewwwwwwwww it was so hot up there, however we managed to finish everything we wanted to.....so I am just going to have a bit of a rest before going down to help my friend pack up ready for her move to her new abode.
Tomorrow I have a visit to the tooth puller...........not to have a tooth pulled but for a check-up...........I hate it..............but touch wood, I have not had to have anything other than cleaning for the last 6 years..........good diet and mouth hygiene do pay off.
FBthree.....one of the first things we did was to put water barrels on our very small shed to catch rain water, we are lucky we do have stand pipes, but I do try not to use it, another thing we did was to use old dustbins, when we have a lot of water in the butts we transfer it to the bins, I also re - used our caravan waste containers to hold water.September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

latest was egg hurling at our front door last night.(see thread on how to remove egg from door:rolleyes: ) give me strength.
FBTHREE &csarinaknight - im so jealous of you having allotments.we have 3 veg plots in our garden, but this year its looking like beirut, thanks to a puppy who had a facination for eating anything that grew.Ilo will be one on saturday and has grown out of that now, so we can get the garden back to some sort of order.(thats the royal 'we' consisting of me telling OH what i want doing,my backs knackered;) )

Hi all,
Had a wonderful day yesterday as hubby managed to blag tickets to gullivers kingdom (apparently he does have some uses)
The kids really enjoyed themselves and we had a minimum spend day only costing us £5 for the kids ice creams (and my doughnuts).
Today i am busy washing drying and packing as we are off to edinburgh tomorrow for the festival (another no spend time as mum lives up there and pays for everything)
Hubby is hoping for tickets to the rugby (scotland v ireland) he doesnt ask for much does he?
After 5 days up there we are going to stop in at newcastle for an overnight on the way home to visit hubbies mum.
I really wish we could take the kids abroad but unfortunately this year we just cant afford it.
I do feel better in the fact that the kids love visiting relatives and get spoilt rotten (as do hubby and i).
I did write a really long reply with individual statements to a number of people but as i pressed submit the page crashed and i am now running short of time....
Hugs to all who need them and i hape you all have a great time over the next week whilst i am in edinburgh having to stay sober whilst everybody around me is getting drunk and having a great time xx
Leigh xxI will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!
Total £560 -
Ellie, hugs to your poor oh, hope he heals soon, our house had egg & paint thrown at it before we moved in as the previous owner was always falling out with people. Fortunately we only have 1 child to deal with as we get on with the other neighbours

Just popped back on while my dinner is cooking.
What a lot of people having neighbour problems - I've always been really lucky with mine, wherever we've lived, but I know people whose lives are made hell by theirs. I don't think the authorities, police, etc., do anywhere near enough to sort these things out.
MRSMIX - yours is a horrid situation but one thing I would do is write to the council to let them know that your neighbour writes letters on your behalf that you have no 'say' in, and that you don't endorse what he says. When you sell a house nowadays, you have to come clean about any disputes with the neighbours that have involved the local authority or the police and it could affect a sale, so it's a good idea to distance yourself from your neighbour's problems - easier said than done, I expect, but at least the council will know where you stand. Good luck to you and everyone else with neighbour problems. We should all feel safe and happy in our own homes, shouldn't we?
Well, JACKIEO - I have thought about you a lot today especially when I sorted out my knicker drawer! Will say a prayer for you and light my candle tonight. Good luck for tomorrow. (((hugs))).
We have had a lovely afternoon here - it's been warmer outside than in the house and I have a lovely sheltered bit in the garden where I can sit and not get the cool breeze we've had today. Indulged in a long read of the paper - one of my favourite ways of spending time!
Hope everyone has had some sunshine today. I have a load of blackberries ready for picking at the end of the garden so I will do something with them tomorrow. I don't know if they can be frozen? I suppose I can freeze them separately on a tray like you do with raspberries. Or - I might just eat them!
Anyway, off to have my dinner. Will try and call in later but, if not, once again, GOOD LUCK JACKIEO!!

Hope everyone is well, hugs to allwell if you want one of course.
One day I might be more organised...........
