its sunny here but like yesterday it wont last long likely, playscheme today and wee kyle is going too complete with plaster, i am going to be so nervous
but i am sure he will be fine though tired

looks like it is going to be a nice day here too. car goes in for a service today, fingers crossed no surprise bills! hopefully I will have a garden bench to sit on when I get home as OH will have no transport as I will have his car. building it up and sealing it will keep him out of mischief.

DOnny-gal - its me with the broken foot......... sigh.

Had a phone call frm my sister; her DH's gran died and the funeral was last Thurday (I already knew and she knew that) - it happened quickly. Then she found out a friend at work's DH died the same day. Funeral for him is today. My other sister had her SIL's sister die last week as well - she had terminal cancer and they had a 65th birthday party for her - to say goodbye - and she died 30 minutes after everyone left the party. SO not a happy phone call.

Also my oldest sister was really upset by a cousin (who's a PITA at the best of times) over who organized a BBQ - he started to and she took over, but he didn't say he wasn't happy with her doing that until 30 minutes before it was to start and has also decided that he isn't ever going have anything to do with the family again. So my sis isn't talking to any of us. Call was originally about the strange email we had all gotten off of her. She isn't well (has MG) and upsets easily anyway.... sigh. Family.

Other than that, same old same old. I watched 3 films yesterday..... I have read 2 books a day, worked on teh x stitch, a bit of housework wet c for so long now! I want to be able to DO stuff!!

The chicken we took out of the freezer for dinner last night was still rock-hard at 5PM, we got a fish pie from M+S as a treat insteead. Chicken tonight.

Morning All

Cloudy this morning but that wont affect me as I shall be either in my office or doing housework. I will finish my big filing job this morning which will be a huge weight off of my mind. Also want to clear the washing basket and do all the ironing. As the iron stuff is already set up in the kids playroom its so much easier and I can watch all the stuff that ive sky+'d up there.

Big monthly Tesco shop coming today, have to admit that I still have it delivered with bags as otherwise would take me ages to unload. As the driver leaves his van running I dont think its that ecological anyway. Old bags are always recycled or given back to the driver.

Lamb chops with runner beans tonight for tea, kids will have pasta.

Lovely morning here so hopefully the 3 lines of washing that got soaked yesterday will dry nicely

I have got a busy few days as a friend is coming over from Spain so I have arranged for different friends to come for meals so that she can see everyone. I am so looking forward to seeing her.

BOTH MY DAUGHTERS NEED SOME tlc. 1 HAVING HORRIBLE TIME WITH BOYFRIEND!!!! i HOPE THIS IS THE END OF HIM.
tHE OTHER IS THE MANAGER OF A ( sorry bout caps its too early!!!) pub and a bloke came in the other night got drunk and when she asked him to leave he got really aggressive and threatened to come back and stab her!!! Nice person. So that really shook her up.

Good morning to all of my friends on here , Well this is my last day before I go in and kick the bejesus out of the cancer in my right boob. I am determined that a little thing like that will not stop me doing all the things I have planned for the future..:D

First off ,have you ever heard the old maxim 'it never rains but it pours well I think it was meant for moi.Yesterday started off nice and bright and as far as I knew I was going to have the electrician in the morning to fit the lighting followed by the plasterer in the afternoon to do the walls .ergo my nice new conservatory would be finished and awaiting my lovely son-in-laws laying of a new laminated floor whilst I was in the hospital
.Well the best laid plans seemed to go belly up yeasterday :mad:

1st the plasterer turned up at 7.45/a/m/ to be told you can't start till the sparks has been .O.K. he said I'll be back this afternoon no problem.

Phone call to company at 0.9.30.a.m. 'Wheres me sparks'
Company. 'I'll find out and ring you back'
rang back 5 minutes later he is held up on a job in Tonbridge that he should have finished last week:mad:
Me 'I wanted it all done before I go into hospital
Company 'profuse apologies, I will chase him up and get him there as soon as poss, plasterers will follow him in the minute he's finished. Me :mad:
Sparks arrives at 12.45. grumbling no less because he's had to rush around :mad:
Starts on job and finally finishes around 3.30.leaving a rotten mess for me to clear up on the floor .I phone the plasterers to be told it's far too late for them to come today they will be here in the morning (today):mad: :mad:
Last night we had the mother and father of all electrical storms and the rain torrented down like the second flood .The drains couldn't cope with the water sheeting off the roof and by 9.30.p.m. my nice new conservatory was leaking like a sieve :mad: :mad: :mad:
Paddling out with a torch to see whats gone wrong in 3 inches of water it looks like the down drain pipe from the roof of my house the builder just left lying on the roof of said conservatory to drain down to a little gutter .The gutter couldn't take it and somehow it seems to have backflowed inside .So in a way it was a good job that the plasterers din't plaster as it would all have fallen off the wall. I phoned my DD and she in turned left a scathing message on the answerphone of the company so I await their reply this morning .I am not a happy bunny and really don't need anymore stress this week.
Apart from that I am normally quite a cheery old soul but as I am coughing up the best part of 6K to sit in the warm and dry I want it to be warm and dry:eek:
Still on to other matters I've had my rant for the day.
My pal came down to see me yesterday for the day from Dartford, and we had a lovely day.My eldest DD also came for lunch with my Dgd.We had a nice chatty 'girly' lunch
Today I am going to sit calmly in my sitting room and make two anniversary cards for my two DDs. Shellys is on next Monday and Tess's is on Tuesday .It's handy them being so close together, I never forget them that way.
My grandson Danny is coming this afternoon to finish off painting my garden fence bless him. He has got some more extras work in September in the Basil Brush show that will be televised at Christmas .You can't miss Dan he looks like a very young Tom Cruise .
He is so pleased about getting more work as it will help him with his driving lessons in November when he is 17.His college course starts in mid September but the studios have said that they will work him around his course.
Well the sun is shining again and hopefully it will dry up the garden a bit .It was one heck of a storm last night .I ended up tuning off to t.v. and my computer as the thunder and lightning were preety spectacular.Well thats all for now folks I will pop in later and let you know whats happening. <<hugs>> to those in need and a big face to the rest of you .At least my conservatory is keeping me occupied :rotfl:

Hester and charlies mum enjoy being "ladies wot lunch". I was a lady wot lunches yesterday. Only Pizza Hut with DS and DD but great fun.
twink I'm sure LO will be fine but I bet you will be glad when that session is over.
odds-n-sods the old saying is true. You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. Being from a big family myself, its rare that absolutely everyone is talking to everybody else at the same time. Sorry to hear of the spate of deaths. (What's MG btw? can't figure it out, sorry)

JackieO sorry to hear of your conservatory saga. Hope DD's message works and they get a kick up the backside. (((hugs))) and good wishes for tomorrow. You know, I bet electricity usage will be low tomorrow as so many OSers will be lighting candles for you that they won't need lamps. Hope all goes well for you.

WM is on and I hope to get it hung out before I go off to w**k. XDH is dropping by to drop some stuff off and pick up DS's inhalers before they head off down to Longleat. I hope the weather stays nice for them.

Now that DD and DS are away for the next week, I will use the time to try and get up to date with the housework that I have been neglecting for a wee while. I have kept on top of the washing and washing up, etc but everywhere I look I see jobs that need doing. So, a busy few days for me.

Good morning everyone

Its a beautiful day here! i was up at 5 as i couldnt sleep so i did the ironing and all my dialies that i could and boy am i glad i did as its going to be so hot!!
Going to take DS3to work and then i'm off to the doctors to see if im fit to go back to work or not. i dont feel ready so probably not the dr started me on new medications and they are simply not doing the trick so i still feel lousy.
anyway rant over

Morning everyone. I haven't posted on the daily thread but I always read it and thought I would say hello. I hope you don't mind if I join in. You all sound so busy and organised and are such early risers - in the school holidays I tend not to get down to the computer until about 9am, and then I am only on it until DD1 surfaces at around 10 when she takes command of it! I am waiting in today for the washing machine repair man - I bought this hotpoint Aqualtis last October and it has been nothing but trouble! They have replaced it once and this one isn't any better it seems! At the same time as I bought the WM I bought a Hotpoint cooker and that has been repaired three times too:mad: I bought a load of jam jars really cheaply in a 50p shop the other day and am itching to get making some jams and chutneys. I have lots of tomatoes from my garden but they aren't quite ripe yet, so that one will have to wait. I am thinking I might make strawberry jam today as I have some strawberries which were reduced in supermarket yesterday. I have just ordered a Marguerite Patten jam and chutney book from Amazon to give me some more inspiration, and hopefully I will be able to make lots of jars for Christmas gifts.

JackieO - you are quite amazing - I am in awe of your fortitude and courage and hope that all goes well tomorrow.

Morning Everyone

Just had brekky, nice slice of toast.....yuk - bit into a nice piece of mould!!

Got mum comin over for lunch and then we are takin the kids to West Ham Park this afternoon (weather permitting) as they should have something on like bouncy castle/balloon making/magic show.
Also got to do abit of baking for her to take home, have already done the bread pudding.

nothing much else exciting to report i'm afraid!
