Any chance they can make it so more than one post can be shown on a screen? Is this trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator?

Ive have to reduce my 'zoom' to 75% - I'll soon need an overhead projector!!

The new format is not good - too bright and too spaced out.

Whilst the current (old) format may have been a bit jumbled at times, there needs to be a balance but it isn't there yet.

I have just logged in and the old format has reappeared so that's good, but how do you change it if you're not logged in?

I interpret the official post I linked above to mean all "guest" viewers (IE not logged in) will only be able to see the new version.

I have to confess it's many moons since I even looked at a pilot version of the new format, and it has probably changed a great deal. It was a very confusing and disappointing experience then, so I switched back to the old format and I can't see a lot of reason for switching to the new format.

Twitter, and perhaps also Facebook, options are quite enticing though - if perhaps a bit too personal, unless you have a number of Twitter/Facebook personalities.

Glad we are still allowed to use the old format, and I hope we will be, for a very long time.

Yes, because that is the version Google will "see" so has to be the mobile friendly one.

These Google changes are going to impact a lot of sites, I desperately need to sort my sites for mobile optimisation.

On a wide screen notebook the new layout is not good at all on the eyes and I do not like it. I wonder how long it will be before the old layout will be gone even when logged in.

I recently went to 21:9 which hasn't helped but think in general it looks really dreadful and in particular the navigation is awkward, images don't scale to the window pane properly and it all "feels" very uncomfortable.

Me and my antiquated desktop ways...
