I don't see why he has to ask. He has already set a preliminary completion date, which I obviously understand is in lieu of satisfactory exchange.
The point is the majority of the questions in your original post are null until you've exchanged. By all means plan, but many house purchases fall through just before exchange so you need to be cautious.
You clearly don't know much about this process and have demonstrated it again in the post I've quoted, but you respond with an annoying know-it-all attitude.
All the best with your house purchase.0 -
No need for 'luck'. The house is effectively purchased and i'm sure you'll tentatively wait while I imminently inform you when the keys are in my hand.0

Never said anything about 'luck', and I'm sure you won't need it.0 -
I think OP that if you don't believe all of the people who are telling you the same thing, call your solicitor today and ask if you have exchanged. I know you have told your solicitor that you are ready to exchange and signed your contracts and agreed a proposed completion date. Hopefully all will go as you planned. But you can't say 'I told you so'.
You should know 100% if you have actually exchanged, and at this point the completion date is set in the contract. Myself and my buyer signed our contracts months ago, and myself and our vendors also signed a few weeks ago. But we haven't exchanged yet, even though we hope to within the next couple of weeks.
If all goes as you plan, that will be fantastic for you, and people here aren't just trying to come up with imaginary obstacles. We are just advising caution as regards organising binding contracts for utilities etc., in case you haven't in fact exchanged, and the purchase may fall through. It happens, for a variety of reasons, and even if you do everything in your power, it may not happen.
If your solicitor confirms that you have exchanged, when you ring them today, then they will be able to tell you the exact completion date so that you can then go away and organise your utilities etc.
As for broadband without a land line, it is possible but may not be the cheapest option for you. Look at the top of the MSE site here, at utilities and phones and see the cheapest deals for your area.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Gosh, it's awkward when people don't tell you what you want to hear, isn't it?
Beginning to wonder whether this thread was intended as an ad for the solicitor, given the amount of unprovoked praise being sent their way by the OP.0 -
Should I mention BB can take 2-3 weeks to install depending on supplier ?
It really is quite scary how often the OP said he had "assumed"I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Please increase questions regarding your purchase and your petulant replies to answers you didn't like - to post-teen level.
Given the 'notorious paranoia' to be found here, one wonders why you would come along to ask for advice?
Your questions were shocking IMO and your manners are no better.0 -

How did you get on OP? Did you complete and move in yesterday as you had hoped?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
