Another thought - is there an occupational pension scheme?

    Ill health pension?

We've just commenced a workplace pension - not sure what provision is in there.

I've a thread in the pensions section incidentally if you want a look at that?

    Thanks

  • Hi guys

Just got a text message off DWP (I'm assuming it's genuine - I did give my mobile number) saying:

We confirm you will now get Income Support. We'll send you a letter about this. Your payment of approx £187.00 will be paid to your account on 27/04/2015.

Based on my IS starting 01/04/15, I'm guessing this is a weekly amount? The stagger on my figures on page 2 presumably caused by the switching between tax years?

When is IS paid then, is it 4 weekly in arrears and my next payment due 22/05/15, with the Bank Holiday on 25/05/15?

    Thanks

Thank you. Is it in arrears or advance? The dates are confusing me a bit here?

What day is it usually paid - is this likely to be an irregular payment?

I know the letter will arrive but I'm a little impatient! LOL

    Thanks

I seem to remember it goes by your national isnurance number (the last 2 digits, I think) and it's the same day every fortnight.

  • Just hit my bank account £187.95.

Wait for the letter now I guess to see what they are doing!

    Thanks

  • Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but that's less by a couple of quid than the 14/15 rate, so there's obviously some form of deduction I'm guessing or some premium they're not giving me, which is proportioned over so many days.

Either way I can't work it out. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow as this sort of stuff makes me really anxious!

    Thanks

you need to wait for the letter.
there could be any number of reasons for the 'odd' amount.
it may not be for a full benefit period ( depends how many days you are due)
' a couple of quid' wouldn't be enough to mean there is a missing premium.
IS has only increased by 1% from the 14/15 rates this tax yuear

I bit the bullet and phoned them as waiting isn't my forte unfortunately, it really does make me nervous and anxious.

I've been told I'm on 94.95pw made up of:

    Couples applicable figure 114.85
    Couples Disablement premium 45.95
    Couples Enhanced disablement premium 22.60
    Sub-total 183.40
    SSP (88.45)
    Weekly total 94.95 per week

That the begs the question of my original post with my calculations shows the single disablement premium and the single carers premium both missing. The gentleman I spoke to didn't have the paperwork on the system to check but it's throwing me a bit now.

Can anyone shed any further light on this for me please? I'm finding IS the most complicated benefit to understand by a long way!

    Thank you

you are getting the couples disability premium ... you won't get the single disability premium as well.
does your wife already receive carers allowance for looking after you?

seeing as you both receive PIP, then you should get either
the couples severe disability premium ( SDPx2)
or if she gets carers allowance ( which will be deducted from the amount of income support you receive) 1 x carers premium and 1 x severe disability premium.
there will be a form to claim the severe disability premium ... i think it is an IS10
