Scotland doesn't get back any where near what it sends to London so just don't go there.

The people living in England have been brainwashed to think that Scotland gets more than it contributes to garner I'll feeling. Do you actually think that if it was truly the case that Westminster would openly admit saying "we need to keep them in Scotlandshire happy so we are giving them more than they pay in." Why on earth would Westminister want to keep us if we actually cost money? I'll tell you why? We don't cost money, but our whisky, tourism, oil etc etc puts far money to London that we ever get back! But them in London put a good spin on it all.

Give us our independence and you'll soon see just how broke England would be without Scotland.

I wish I still had links, but all through the referendum little things came out from former London politicians. It was probably kept out the media down there but one such report that came out that was produced in the 70's regarding Scotland oil, and I remember it well "Scotland would be so rich it would be obscene. We can't let them know how much oil there is and we can't let them have independence at any cost".

This whole report makes for very interesting reading. Especially the conclusion starting on page 16.
