Speaking of Battenburgs, the Lyons Battenburgs (oh Savvy did you have to?:() are back and are at their usual 74p in M (if they are in your store). Kipl. Viennese Whirls at 64p. I'm not bothering with the McV Jamaica and Ginger Cakes - £1.29 each and bogo'f'; I'm not playing that game!:( No point on the McVities cakes, wait until they are back at 65p or 64p each. Why buy twice as much to pay the same? Or rather twice as much to get twice as much. In any event, you do not need to have your buying encouraged in that way - so avoid:money:! (It's not get one "free" (you'll note my quotation marks) - the cost of the second one is covered in the full price cost of the first! That's how I see it.)

McVities Flapjacks at 65p, but already been on offer at T - but I saw a pack in M today on whoopsie that was even cheaper than 65p - so why bother with 10% cheaper than 65p when you can get that?!?

Typical that the Boil in the Bag kippers are now either no longer sold in A or else are no trace on msm (and therefore probably no appear on the old APG at least):(. They're always trying to "save us money" it seems by withdrawing from sale anything that might be any good value:mad:.

Just to let you know, the M Kippers (200g) - fresh section - are now on 2 for £2. :think:Think they were 99p some while ago, before they saw their increase to £1.29:eek: price and were then not heard of from me since.

Speaking of things of, maybe, good value that appear no longer to be sold - the Stephenson's Muffins (6 pack at 65p) - cheaper than any own brand mere 4 pack at 2 for £1 tricks or even 50ps - appear not to be in any of my Ms now. Maybe whoopsies elsewhere could be cheaper anyway.

And something about the Coleslaw. There's some Coleslaw on 'offer' in M at 50p. This includes some "Reduced Fat" coleslaw so, I thought, maybe that might be a bit different to the usual Savers Coleslaw, even though Savers, is cheaper and therefore justify the extra cost? But wait...:idea:I wonder if the Savers Coleslaw might have less fat in it than the "Reduced" fat version:rotfl:.

    And so it turns out...

All of them are 300g. The (standard range) "Reduced Fat" version has 10g:eek: of fat per 100g!

However, the Savers Coleslaw has 6g of fat in the same weight:rotfl:.

    Just as expected!:D:rotfl::rotfl:

Of course, the "Reduced" fat version has less fat than the standard range regular version that has 16.8g of fat in 100g! I suspect that's what gives it it's taste, but really... stick with the Savers version is the way to go, and do not get taken by "reduced" fat that has more fat than that. There's therefore no need to pay more for "Reduced Fat" (their words, not mine) when you can get the Savers version (same quantity) for less cost. I suspect they don't want people to do that - instead they want them to see "Reduced Fat" and be prepared to pay 50p, thinking they are getting the least fat they could, rather than save money, as well as get even lower fat content, and get the 30p ones which already have quite a lot lower fat (than even the "reduced fat" version). However, it also depends on what level of fat the SP Coleslaw has in it (if we are to do a comparison:rotfl:)!

I therefore refuse to put "Reduced Fat" Coleslaw 300g at 50p onto the list, or even compare against it, when there are cheaper 30p Savers versions available - and, to boot, they contain even less fat!

The Carlsberg Lager packs (20x440ml) that were £10 have now gone up in price to £11 and are what are now termed as "Great value"!:rotfl: The old "Great value" trick:D:rotfl::rotfl:. Not as "great" value IMO as the even greater value of last week! So, avoid!(:rotfl:)

I wonder what actually "great" anything is. In my own cautiousness, I never really call anything "great" at all. "Good" or "okay" is the best it gets. I guess I'm not hyperbolic or melodramatic (or over-dramatic) like they are, and prone to exaggeration or "hype".

Things can be "good" or even sometimes "very good", but I can't think of anything in the world really that I would go so far as to call "great" (other than as a pure throw-away term rather than being accurate, or even, sometimes "That's great:(", in other words, used when things are not really great at all but are bad rather than good (and not "bad" in the slang sense of meaning "good")). Maybe some things might even approach "excellent" - that are very very good - but is "excellent" beyond "great" or is it the other way around? I don't know - anyway, if they term £11 "great" then last week's £10, which was even better for us, must have been greater than great! Yet, strangely, not a word about its beyond mere greatness last week! No good now:rotfl:. Not very great any more:rotfl::rotfl:.

The Stella Artois that was £10 never makes it anyway - as it is the ones that are just 284ml rather than 440ml.

    Ooooo....
"Most of the front pages show the UK's election and broadcast restrictions mean we can't show any of those." (BBC News, just now.)
    Oh, interesting:).

No papers review:j (if we didn't want to know what the papers said).

Perhaps we'll see them all at 10pm:rotfl:. No exit polls until then:silenced:.

Not only A that does this. Another price in M I noticed - the Charlie Bodysprays that were 82p each a few weeks ago. Now £1.65 and any 2 for £2:rotfl:. Nothing like buying twice as many and paying 18p extra on each one!:rotfl::rotfl: I'm sure you'll... well, avoid!(:rotfl:)

:(Ruddy typical - T's now apparently going OOS (although this is from msm) - this time of the Glade Sparkling Spruce (Limited Edition) Candle that's £2 in M. Last time I saw, when it was at that a few months ago, T were £5 and M £2. I wouldn't bet on it comparing anyway.
