I'm about 10 miles from La Zenia Boulevard.

I only spend up to six months in Spain, I go back to the UK soon.

Another important point - whilst Spanish healthcare is good, there is a lack of aftercare at home and social care. This is why many ex-pats, especially if they have lost a partner, wish to return to the UK. IF you are able to retain a home in the UK, that's good.

In addition, pay attention to inheritance tax rules, it varies regionally.

Why are British people living in Spain call expats and Spanish people living in Britain called immigrants?

British people call fellow countrymen living in another country 'expats'. The locals will have their own name. The Spanish term anyone who is not Spanish an 'Alien'. The common name for us is 'guiris', or 'The tattooed ones'.:D

I agree the health service is very good here I can't fault it

I quite like LA zenia shopping center , feel like being back in the UK but sunnier , so many English people there!

    :)
  • I hope you don't tempt too many pensioners to invest their lifelong earnings in a Spanish escapade Tony. Let's face it, spend your money there and you'll never get it back and nor will your kids.

Sunny Spain is fine for 2 weeks holiday but there's nothing else there for the other 50 weeks.

Still, it's nice of you to promote Espana. Viva and all that :undecided

Tonymar..i wonder if you know what other additional charges apartment dwellers might have to pay that non flat dwellers i.e houses dont pay?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
