Did mine on the 6th, still says bank repayment pending.

Last years i submitted on 8th April and nothing changed until 22nd April, hopefull this years is alot quicker.

I'm asssuming it works on a first come first serve basis?? Hence why i submitted mine as soon as i possible could this year.

Is anyone else here a subontractor in the construction industry? As this year i entered in detailed info to tailor my tax return, i also entered in how much tax £ deduction i had this year, and that figured funnily enough turned out to be my exact amount £ rebate. Dont understand how if im honest
  • Did you actually enter details of your business turnover less any expenses and if so what was the end profit figure?
The tax free personal allowance is quite big now so you could have had a profit of £10000 and not have any tax to pay so anything deducted during the year would be repayable (less any national insurance self employed people have to pay - not sure about amounts for this).
This also assumes you didn't have any other income such as employment earnings or interest

Yes i entered the details of how much i earnt in the tax year it was around 25000 and i entered in details of milage etc to tailor my return. It seems for some reason ive not had to pay any tax, not too sure why but ive filled it accurately and thats the amount ive been given so..

So.....I wouldn't expect to get a refund any time soon. Looking at posts from last year a lot of problems seems to be with people not filling in the form correctly and getting a security check which massively delayed things.
Maybe you could post up what fields you completed and what the calculation shows?
If profits were £25k then you could expect a tax bill of approx £2900 plus class 2 (£150?) and class 4 nic (£1500?) so you would probably have had to have had at least £4550+ deducted during the year to get a refund.
Not sure what tax is deducted for subcontractors - how much did you pay during the year?

All of my tax has been paid. I'm a subcontractor, the company i work for deducts my tax for me.
