I'm worried mine is going to be investigated and take forever to come through! All the figures are fine so I'm not worried about that but if it has gone to that department they won't rush it through I'm guessing! Said on phone it will probably be another few weeks so I'm definitely not holding my breath it will most likely be June now!!

Been told mine has been sent to enquiry centre at Swindon! Anyone know what this means?
I aren't sure could it be the same as the complience centre? It turned out that's where ours was sent to double check about the national insurance

actually our letter says 'this letter is not an enquiry into your return..' so perhaps it has gone to investigation :( that was our concern like you say we had receipts and invoices it's just the concern it's going to take a long time to sort out at that point

My OH is waiting two repayments from earlier tax years when he did paper returns. One has gone completely AWOL - but I can chase that again.

For the other he received a letter mid-March with revised calculation and it said payment to follow. Waited but nothing arrived. Anyway he perchance logged online and the amount was sitting there waiting to be "requested". He did so on 27 April, giving his bank account details.

There was some message about potential security checks and I know the HMRC are notoriously slow to put their hand in their pocket, but logged on today and its now showing as "cheque refunding pending".

So here's the how long is a piece of string question - when and how should we expect the refund BACS/cheque? And how long to wait to chase AGAIN?

If you've requested it will prob be within this next week they are paying it quicker now but ours seems to be stuck in a backlog from when their systems were down
