HMRC Repayment Pending

okay Hubby just rang - she said he's in security checks, has been for 2 weeks but there's quite a backlog, told him he'd be cleared by the 18th May then said 'just one second... no sorry 28th May' he explained he's starting a new job and needs the money for tools but she said there's nothing they could do as the backlog is so big.

It seems that they're making excuses to everyone, surely we can't all be having security checks

I received a reply from the hmrc website this is all they said "Thank you for your online enquiry. I'm sorry your repayment is taking so long. It can take up to ten working days for it to reach your account after it has been issued." This reply doesn't answer any of my questions. My repayment hasn't even been issued so this just goes to show it's just been copied and pasted to everyone. Sick and tired of seeing PENDING everytime I sign in!!

Hi I've joined this site to give my expensive of what has happened to me so far during this torrid wait for out tax return.i submitted on the 7th with my bank details but then the next day it showed how much credit was on my account and gave me the choice to request repayment which I did.so Since the 8th I'm been on payment pending and after reading this site and trying a few numbers I got through and the first time i got told I for picked for security which supposedly only 1 out of 10 get picked which all us seem to be them not so special ones...then she proceeded to tell me id passed and is get my money..week passed nothing happened so I called again and they said money is their and should be in and don't understand why will get someone to call then this morning I got a call from a guy who said my figures don't match (not my expenses) but he said id only paid £400 tax or something and he needs my proof which is bull I've worked for same company for 4years never a problem.. Don't understand why this year they have no records of me working.i just find it so hard to believe I will let you know what happens .

Still pending since the 8th now. Absolutely ridiculous. Can't get a straight answer been nearly 4 weeks not had a reply through post and ringing and get cut off. Not happy at all
