Tarring all sellers with the same brush, is not, in my opinion, good business practice.

An ironic typo, considering you were tarring all the sellers in this thread who said they posted follow up comments with the same brush by accusing us of "smearing" buyers.

My Maltese buyer has now left positive feedback commenting on the fast postage. However, I now have an Australian buyer with the dreaded 'have you posted it yet?' Message. Sent 9 working days ago, so I've asked her to wait a little longer.

    Terrible sellers :)

I bought a load of items on ebay yesterday afternoon and nothing arrived today. What is the world coming to?

Sellers should be sitting by the computer waiting for buyers and then pack the item and rush out to the post office within the hour. :)

Has everyone chosen slower postage methods over the last year or so? Or maybe its just certain sellers that do have a very fast turn around on postage?

More of the items i buy seem to be 2nd class these days. Less 1st class or 1st class recorded.

Is that due to the price increases?

I sometimes dream of responding with something like ' no I didn't bother sending it, I just can't be **** to take it to the post office, sorry' .

I think that before RM was privatised there was very little difference in average delivery times for 1st and 2nd class postage (except in the busy pre-Christmas period) but nowadays it may be more likely to make a significant difference. I find that almost all my customers will use the default postage option, whether I have 1st or 2nd class as default, and I've had customers buying something with 2nd class postage (instead of selecting and paying a little more for 1st class) then expecting it the next day.

My default is 2nd class freepost, I also offer 1st class for a bit xtra however I often get a message after buyer has chosen the freepost option saying please post asap I really need this by xxday - just select the 1st class option then!

Just out of interest, what was the latest delivery estimate? Regardless though, 9 days to Oz would be pretty impressive !

I get this a couple of times a week, the buyer selects my 4 to 6 working day courier option, then says they need it within a couple of days!

    I give them two options:

    1) They pay a further payment for the Express delivery option
    2) I cancel the order as I cannot meet their delivery expectations

The price differnce to me between my 'free' and Express options is between 5 and 7 pounds, so I can't be upgrading people for free as I price expecting everyone to choose 'free' postage, so anyone wanting a service upgrade is charged the listing price. I've found most pay it happily with no adverse feedback.

    I think that's already passed :(.

I really feel like eBay penalise me, I'm forever moaning about their really stupid estimates and feel I am the only one that is expected to use fairy dust post to get items there within a matter of hours.
