mines the ex - workshy, lazy good for nothin. I hate him so much I was in a vulnerable place after having 2 babies in close succession and with no family around me he was all I had so i put up with a lot even knowing he was ripping me off - suffice to say he kept phoning in work sick so i'd come home and he'd be sitting there with the car on the drive and i'd struggled to pick kids up from childminders on 2 buses after having worked a fullday. I ended up kicking him out that was 6yrs ago and i promised myself i'd never look at another man and i haven't.

when i totted the bills up once he'd gone they came to 15k. not seen him for 6yrs - he's a scumbag. The best yrs of my kids lives have been lived on a shoestring only the last 18mths i've been moreorless debt free and able to treat them.
  • Gym membership. I hate exercise I have no idea why paying for it would make me more likely to do it. 35 quid a month for 6 months.

"home exercise equipment" now gathering dust.

the pets, buying them "toys" which they ignore.

stationary, pens, paper, boxes to store in all in.

    Shoes, bags,

DVDs I watch once and never again .

Self help books (embarrassingly I own rather a lot)

    Buffy
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • £7000 loan for moving in with ex - he took the cash and im paying for it...still :(

  • For me, it's a collection on Harry Potter figurines, by Royal Doulton. They cost £20-£30 each off eBay, and I've never even taken them out of their boxes! I don't even know why I bought them, I mean I like Harry Potter, but I'm not a massive fan. They are currently in the loft :o

Ebay works 2 ways my friend :p get them sold
    why do we do it,

My biggest waste of money was Microsoft Office XP Pro special edition with optical mouse, I did get it a reduced to clear at £240 and then £120 cashback so it was not too expensive but it never really worked on my PC and now I just use OpenOffice.org. I really should sell it soon.

My most annoying waste of money is on Christmas and birthday presents FROM friends! They buy me DVDs at approximately £15 a time which I never watch and I feel obliged to buy them a £15 present in return. In my family we only spend £5 on each other and it's embarrassing that I'm spending more on my friends. I've told them that I just sell the DVDs on eBay and only get upto £7 and I'm not happy but they think it's my fault and I shouldn't be selling presents so I reply that I don't like the DVDs and I am considered ungrateful. I even spent far less on them for a few years but I am now considered a cheap skate. So the end result is that I am losing £8 with every present :(
  • I'm ashamed to say 'Protectacoat' . If you do a google search you will find their site and pages with people's honest experiences. If you ever get approached by one of their salesmen/saleswomen .....run a mile!!!!!!!!
Very expensive product that isn't all that it's cracked up to be. The finance terms are hideous .... if only I knew this site back then.
Now debtfree except for the mortgage!

How much did they sting you for. I used to be a builder many moons ago when i left the army, my boss at the time backed me into corners with upping jobs, he always looked at it as he was doing to so he could keep paying his lads.

I left not long after, I used to feel sorry for the nice people.

  • About 8K for Front side and back of house. However, with the finance (over 10 years) it is looking at much much more :o . They rope you in with a payment for referrals but of course most people are much saner than I must of been back then!!!!!

I would not blame yourself for it, there sales men, they know how much the jobs gonna cost, if it needs it or not, the more they can get for it the better, but i think as soon as your taken in by the payments they load it up.

One of the things what always made me laugh, was the prices our company put in. £4287.61, I mean, the figure is total make up. I think it stems from £9.95 sounds much cheaper then £9.99, and a hell of a lot cheaper then a whole tenner....
