Chocolate! Bars and bars of chocolate!

Cos funnily enough it makes me put on weight so I then have to go on diets eating expensive stuff like fruit etc to compensate for my chocolate cravings.

If I didn't buy the chocolate in the first place I would be saving that money and the ensuing diet food money.

    Will I ever learn?

Oh, and the obligatory elliptical trainer!

    Nice to save.

Time is really my greatest waste as I never really use it productively. so all the secondary wasters come into play from trawling internet forums (hehe!) to daytime TV, to sorting out filing and getting stuck on reminiscence. If I could be paid for daydreaming, I would be richer than Bill Gates :D

I agree with you for this. Though I have such a tight schedule for my project, still can't concentrate to make all done. I am a time waster. Desparated me!!!

About 5 years ago my sister had a two for one deal for this and asked me to go with her - the photo session was quite cheap, $30 I think. I remember at the time I had reservations though - they put a tonne of makeup on me and made me wear stupid hats and pose unnaturally, I didn't feel comfortable or myself at all.

2-weeks later they called us in to look at/buy the shots. The prices were astronomical and there was a lot of hard sell to buy. I think the photos were $50 per photo, or 10 for $200. I was a sucker and took the 10 deal as I thought it was better value.

But I look at the photos now, and they are nice enough - but they don't look like me at all. I was wearing clothes I didn't like, I'm so made up with foundation and eye makeup it looks very unnatural.

I definitely prefer some of the regular snaps taken of me at the time and on the rare occassions I do pull out the glamour shots I just feel so embarrassed at how much they cost me!

Over £200 I paid for a Home Study course in proofreading,in the hope (lured by the promise in the advertising for the course) of getting a job as a freelance proofreader/copy editor. It never happened and the coursework I did and the subsequent diploma sit gathering dust.
.Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
  • Oh yes the dreaded ex who bleeds you dry. Been there and didn't even get the T-Shirt unfortunately.
Apart from that the things that spring to mind are - Gel nail kit thing (£50) took it out the box, looked at it, put it back in the box! Spray tan kit (£30) box never opened, Juicer -used once then relegated to back of cupboard, some elastic contraption that was supposed to give you a flat stomach:rolleyes: , no wonder I'm always skint :(
  • Clothes & Shoes!!

Was rather stupid when I first turned 18 and unfortunately I'm paying the price now! Damn store cards / credit cards / pretty handbags!!
  • Have to laugh at the exes thing....:D not in a derisory way, far from it.....I can relate to that feeling of being taken for a ride and losing out money-wise, no problem, BUT when my 'now' partner started messing around last year, it was HIM that would have been the loser as almost all our assets are in my name only, and will always stay that way...I've been burnt too many times in the past to ever completely trust anyone again!

...anyway, my most recent waste of money was a big splurge on clothes that I didn't either really like or need to be honest. It was what I call 'comfort' shopping. Of course to make matters even worse, I don't even fit into any of 'em any more cos I've piled the weight on too...:o

...other wastes of dosh are buying stoopid stuff off Ebay...! too many to list I'm ashamed to say....

Every single one of my purchases has been a resounding success and not a penny has been wasted.

    (I wish.)
  • For me, it's a collection on Harry Potter figurines, by Royal Doulton. They cost £20-£30 each off eBay, and I've never even taken them out of their boxes! I don't even know why I bought them, I mean I like Harry Potter, but I'm not a massive fan. They are currently in the loft :o
  • Having thought about this briefly I can think of a few things:

    1. An epilator for hair removal......my pain threshold is quite good but not that good:eek:

    2. A waxing unit that wasn't cheap. Never did get the hang of it and am still getting them done proffesionally.

    3. Gym membership...............done this one twice and I never got my moneys worth either time.

    4. Dvd players for the kids in the car on long journeys. I think one film got played on them and they never bothered with it again  ( I blame OH for that one)
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60
