Biggest waste of money.....

Mine is a £450 Racing Bike and £30 'Turbo Trainer' (for cycling indoors) that I bought in January 2006 to get fit.

I've ridden it 5 times (twice recently) so at present it has cost me about £96 per cycle ride.........

On the plus side, £480 is about the cost of an annual membership to a gym, and at least I still have the bike;) :D

What's your biggest waste of money?

Steve

I think I've spent over a £1000 on scrapbooking stuff - and yes, I am suitably ashamed! However, I'm still using it all. I guess the biggest waste was actually all the silly stuff I bought for the kids - especially DD as she was the first. the things I bought! For goodness sake! Stupid cutlery with curly wires so they wouldn't fall to the floor - never worked! Other things included an extra pushchair because it matched the SECOND snazzy car seat. No wonder I'm in so much debt.

£200+ I paid out for a college course a few years ago. They called me to tell me there wasn't enough interest and so not going ahead, but I never got round to collecting my refund money (cash). How STUPID was I??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is similar to yours Steve, it's one of those walker/ski machine things. Cost me around £600, nearly killed us getting it set up cos it's so heavy and I don't think I've ever used it since that first day, apart from to hang trousers on of course :o

Kids like swinging on it though!

Can't. It was at least 10 years ago, and I can't even remember the college, the exact amount or any other detail.

I would be there like a shot though if it was now - I've learnt my lesson!

Probably not the biggest waste of money but this one does stand out. A couple of years ago we were pondering weather to go to the zoo or the Bakewell Show(a farming & agricultural show in Derbyshire, with market stalls etc). Me being the bright spark that i am said the Bakewell show,as if we didn't like it we could have a walk into Bakewell itself & spend the day there. Car park was a distance from Bakewell Village/Town & the only way to get there was to walk through the fields where the show was. We had paid £4 for car parking & thought that this included the entrance fee. Got to the entrance & it cost £9 each for OH & I & £7 for daughter  ! Got in there & didn't enjoy it one bit & everything in there cost a fortune! I blamed OH for not choosing the zoo that day ;) !
