I have a wide range of "biggest wastes of money".I have a camcorder, karaoke machine, 5 sets of straightening irons, every piece of baby equipement ever made, an ice-cream maker, a juicer, and a wardrobe of "sale" clothes that dont fit or I dont like.

  • A gym membership that I used 4 times in 12 months.
A sports club membership: 14 quid a month and I have been once this year.
A basketball course: I've attended about 15% of sessions.

    Anyone see a pattern here?!
  • I spent £1000 on a bookkeeping course. Not long finished apying it actually but only ever did 2 assignments. Mug or what?
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • Loads of embarrassing stuff -
    • More than gym membership that I only used when I got the free personal trainer included
    • One of those telephone box thingys Argos used to sell that supposedly reduced your call charges (it never came out of the box)
    • Tupperware-type storage containers - I now have so many that I need a storage container to store them in
    • A coffee-maker that got used twice
    • A pair of designer trainers I saw in a catalogue that were advertised at size 7 for "only" £45 in their sale - pity I didn't realise they were a child's size 7. I was too embarrassed to send them back, so these 4" long things sit in a carrier bag at the bottom of the wardrobe.
    • A webcam that was used once to make sure it worked, then never again
    • Lots of computer cables bought on the basis of "just in case"
I'm now sorting things out to sell on - if I get 10% of what they cost me, I'll be happy. At the moment, they're reminders of "absolutely must have" situations that should have been "don't really need" ones. :o

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

£200+ I paid out for a college course a few years ago. They called me to tell me there wasn't enough interest and so not going ahead, but I never got round to collecting my refund money (cash). How STUPID was I??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you claimed it back? You should still be able to.

    Good luck.
