My face has never been so red as when I took my toaster to the Travelodge for a room service breakfast and it set off the very sensitive smoke alarms!!!!! We had early breakfast so we could set off sight-seeing and most other patrons were leaving their rooms in their nightwear.
Since then we have been advised to sit the toaster on the window sill or be content with croissants.

Bet you weren't as red in the face as some friends of mine who took a long " shower" on their wedding night in a hotel and the steam set off the alarms and the whole place evacuated at 1am!
