Hi
we are looking for a center parcs alternative for Feb 2008 ??? any ideas ?0 -
Ever thought about coach holidays. From recent experience I can't believe how the operators can do it for the money. We have used National Holidays who I believe only work from the North of England but travel to almost everywhere including the continent.
For value for money I don't think you can beat them. Some holidays have entertainment and all inclusive bars for 3 hours so you can get stoned for nothing, be entertained and just stagger back to your room. Have never stayed in a bad hotel with them yet. National Holidays even have a website so you can browse their holidays. They are just one of many coach companies offering great value for money breaks.:beer:0 -
:hello: I thought you might to know about a wonderful hotel in Eastbourne, complete with stair lift - it's called the Ivydene Hotel,at Hampden Terrace, in Latimer Road, and there are no parking restrictions outside the hotel!!
:j The new owners take over at the beginning of September and they are sure to continue the success that the hotel has had over the last 9 years.
The rates are very reasonable at £210 pppw for B&B+dinner, or from £26pppn plus a 4 course dinner for only £9 from 1st May to 30th September.
I intend to visit before the end of the year and I hope I'm lucky enough to get good weather!0 -

Naturally, they aren't right on the coast for that price (although the trad. holiday destination rooms are only about £50 per night per room). We got a family room for 4 of us (king sized bed, pull out sofa bed) for £26 per night for 4 nights in Reading for a bit of sightseeing - close enough to Windsor Castle, Legoland (lastminute.com discount tickets bought in advance) and close enough to London if we wanted to go in by train. We are taking cornflakes, bowls and sugar with us for brekkie (Tesco express a couple of minutes away for the milk) so that saves us the £4 costs of a Travelodge mini breakfast. Hope the rain keeps off
we took a sandwich toaster to the travelodge, ideal for toasted jam sandwiches for breakfast or ideal with "toast toppers" inside. also took pot noodles! :j0 -
Wll you can't beat cornwall, with its fantastic beaches, hidden harbours, open moors and excellent golf courses. We went last year and returned again this yr - its brilliant for young families especially if you get nice weather (hmm)
Stayed at www.lantegloshotel.com where we got a really good deal and they sorted out concessions at local golf courses for us.
Next time we are going to fly from stansted or gatwick - so cheap - £35 eturn !0 -

Where is this park exactly?"Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0 -
Sorry, but I can beat all of you above with a UK holiday for FREE: home swapping! Many people don't realise that you can as equally swap you home with other people in the UK as other countries. My family and I have had some great week-long home swaps with people in Scotland, England and Wales. If you join some of the smaller home swap agencies like www.homebase-hols.com it'll only cost you £29 for the year. Go for it!0

My partner and I and our seven week old daughter had an excellent four night break in Brighton earlier this month. We were charged £60 for the room per night including full breakfast (£240 total) at the recently refurbished Ramada Jarvis on the promenade. £210 was covered by £52.50 of clubcard vouchers, therefore we paid £30 in total in high season for our stay. The room was a big family room, the breakfasts were 'all you can eat', the bar showed sky sports on a big screen. If we'd have walked in off the street the room would have cost £170 per night plus £12 per head breakfast. Beat that!!0
