No spend day. Girls had dentist appointment. Was fairly long drive as the nearest available nhs dentist is 25 miles away.
Dd1 been feeling low this afternoon, tummy ache and temperature. So had cuddles on sofa with a film. I don't have live TV. Didn't work when we moved in and never felt the need to fix it.
Girls did a show earlier, complete with dress ups, dd1 made back drops, and dd3 chose music. It was basically them singing along to their frozen CD but kept them entertained for hours.HOME

Spent two hours before bed playing ludo, the frozen version dd2 got for her birthday. Ex came round to see girls and we were all belly laughing playing it - think lodger thinks we're insane.
Had a text from a friend been invited to the park tomorrow. 9 of us going so should be great just need to bring some picnic stuff to share. Another cheap day.HOME

Cheap day at the park not so. Set off an hour early to find a free parking spot, as Harrogate is heavily permitted. Anyhow had to admit defeat, my usual haunts 1 mile out are permitted Monday to Friday.
So parking a massive £9.80.
Took a picnic but as we were out 9 hours treated girls to an ice cream £4. Bouncy castle £4.
Picnic £12.50 but will get another three meals from it.
£2 drink for me. Took four cartons and a bottle of water but because we were out so long had to buy a drink.
Had an amazing day with great friends, cost per hour Inc food and drink £3. To make it cheaper next time, bring more drinks, scout free parking.HOME

It's all about the small victories. Ex has been round tonight. Said to kids did they want a takeaway, then didn't bother to order one. So just ignored him saying he'd arrange as tea, as it inevitably doesn't happen.
Made chicken in breadcrumbs using aldi fillets at about 7 for £5. Dessert raspberries. Shouted girls for tea, to a little resistance, so offered that they could have a slice of pizza when it arrived. Girls finished tea happy and fed. Dd2 helped herself to an apple at bedtime.
Asked ex where the pizza was, he never ordered it as minimum order was £10.
Victory one girls had a nutritious tea
Victory two ex didn't waste money on a pizza.
Victory three girls realised they didn't want a pizza after all.HOME

Spendy day already.
Bought some clothes off a local Facebook site. £25 but included 7 dresses, 4 tops, 2 cardigans, 5 jumper dresses and 5 pairs of matching leggings. Will fit dd1 this year and dd2 next.
Other than school uniform shouldn't need anything for dd1 and 2 until next year. May start a clothing challenge. So no more than £200 for the year or something. Will have a think.
Still on the hunt for dd3 as she will need new clothes come autumn. As I buy pretty much everything second hand it often doesn't last to dd3.
My car was out of petrol £40 to fill.HOME

That clothing challenge sounds good, I need to do something like that. About two years ago I was obsessed with dressing my girls in Boden. I still love it but have realised it's unnecessary!!!1

Gosh I love mini boden too, I sometimes find it more economical to buy better to pass on, rather than buying cheap that you have to replace. I've got some joules things that have done all three of mine. I find m&s everything pretty good as well. I used to buy all the girls nightwear, coats, jumper dresses from there and they have lasted really well.HOME
