A Mon - Fri lodger might be a good idea as you would have house to yourself at weekends.

Just stopping by to wish you luck on your journey. You've achieved so much already and I really admire your dedication in holding down a full time teaching job plus a Saturday job. I hope you finally get the mortgage news that you're hoping for - I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines.

Well done you - it sounds as if you don't really want to be living with the x right now, don't blame you at all.1

Just stumbled across your diary, in awe of what you are doing. Being a bit blunt, I think it's time to tell OH you have three kids and are not prepared to have a fourth! Didn't he want to have his freedom - well that means making your own decisions so let him decide where he wants to buy!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Usually I'd agree and it is something to consider once lodger has gone, but dd3 just has a cot in her room so would mean buying a bed. Also dd1 &2s room is barely suitable for 3. We have bunks and I sleep in a single without adding dd3s cot in as well.HOME

Good news from broker, looking like I can rid ex from mortgage. Looking at a 3.24% product with Birmingham midshires. I'm going for a 9 year term so will be mf for 40, hoping for sooner. Those who *know* me from before know I'll attack it with all I can.
I'm quietly hopeful as have been here before with the halifax, it was sure to go through etc and didn't. Whatever happens ridding ex from mortgage is costly £1509. Mortgage valuation £455, solicitor to remove ex from deeds £500, broker fee £580.HOME

Understood loud and clear - I'm standing firm this time, he's been like a fourth child for too long.
Thank you for saying your in awe, there's nothing amazing about it, its purely a needs must situation. I either to bankrupt or I keep fighting to keep a roof over our heads. Anyone in my situation would do it.HOME

Ms today
Had a day out at the seaside. Had a fabulous day lots of memories for the girls. Took drinks crisps, cake with us. Therefore avoiding buying once there.
As we live 90 mikes from the coast, seaside is rare for us, so did push the budget. Cost £19.20 including sharing petrol with friend so did pretty well.
Did treat girls to a burger for tea. Ice creams. Crazy golf, £2 limit in arcades. Most of the day spent digging on beach, paddling in sea, walking on the front and paddling in an outdoor swimming pool. Free council park. We like swings and slides.
Very insightful realising I spend a lot on days out with girls, but their childhood memories are my main concern. Will try and cut the spending where I can but won't give up these day trips.HOME

Really rooting for you, hope the remortgage comes through. I agree the best memories i had when growing up were *very* basic holidays in caravans around uk - being basic doesn't mean us kids had bad holidays, it just means much more exciting memories digging the caravan out of the mud ☺
I was wondering with your soa you don't mention any money coming in from your oh. Surely they aren't getting away with no support for their children and just dumping it all on you?Mortgage Free 20241 -
Thanks for the remortgage support, here's hoping.
I'm not getting child support, but I have been offered it. Ex is struggling financially and I don't want to rock the boat.
Ex could legally walk away with half the equity in the house, as I never protected the deposit or overpayments I made. So for £10,000 the amount of capital his repayments took off I'm gaining his half of the house. As I've got £200,000 equity in the house I'm doing very well and my solicitor and myself know it.HOME
