Today I am mostly baking, taking kids to park. Walking to save on petrol. Having a good time. Also considering whether to see the accountant again, I feel he ticked a lit of boxes and it was perhaps a little unfair to write him off because I don't fancy him.HOME

I have been lurking around on these forums for a while now and spent the majority of yesterday reading your diary start to finish. You have inspired me to make an account just to say how well you are doing as a single parent both with the mortgage & the kids whilst sticking to frugal living.
I aim to have a diary of my own in time but working on home improvements and rebuilding my emergency fund for now (had to get a new boiler shortly after the New Year!)0 -

My favourite thing today baking cupcakes again, icing them the making choc chip shortbread. We've also enjoyed riding bikes to church and chatting to friends over tea and biscuits. Usually I find the best things are free.HOME

Had the most amazing evening with the academic. So there's obviously some cultural differences as he finds it socially acceptable to openly hug, kiss in public and I don't but I'm really pleased I've seen him again. He's restored my faith in men, I'm thinking it could be as he's not English but I enjoyed he Moment Anyway. I'm a bit embarrassed by how much I stressed I'm a lady but I am and I was true to myself. He also follows the same religion I do which helped to stress he point.
Have made the max 10% overpayment so payment for just less than £5000 to the mortgage. Proud of me today. Two students in the globe in Sheffield made my year by a king me to join him when date want to the bar, can I really pass fr 21, unlikely but Flattering!HOME

Wow, that is some OP
This year marks 10 years since I bought both properties so it is nice to feel halfway There! It was always going to be tricky as income has been low especially the last couple of years since buying out ex, but I've always tried my best and kept plodding. I count myself lucky to be one of life's plodders.
Treated myself again today with a visit to one of those outlet places. Had lunch out and soft play for dd3 went with a friend. Very expensive week. £50 already on social spends but I need the fun right now.
Still off the diet band wagon had a pizza late last night, clearly brought on by having 2 glasses of wine, I never drink. Today the girls and I have been using up the icing from the cupcakes we made at the weekend. Made biscuits and decorated them.
Ex was supposed to see kids but cancelled again, and announced he can see them for 4 hrs sat but not Fri or Sat night as he's going out again but he will babysit any other night so I can go out. Apart from in reality he won't and I can't cope with going out on a school nite.
Had a quote for the windows £3600 from someone a relative knows so will be proceeding, big challenge is to finish house so I've got the option of moving will not be guilt tripped into staying anymore by someone who has cancelled 1st times in last 6 weeks.HOME

Now up to £90 social spends this week. Had a no spend day yesterday as had the parents round. Went to a lovely gastro pub, their Treat! Today took dd3 to an independent cinema with friends. Saw sing, all 3 adults, 4 kids, loved it. Then went for lunch and play. Bought a monthly pass for £20 which I can use for up to 4 kids at three local play centres so will save money, give us something to do over the next month.
Accountant from two weeks ago has asked me out on Sunday may go. Not heard anything from academic other than how has your day been type texts.
Had confirmation though post of op and mortgage is now below £44000, so excited shared my good news with friends they thought I was off my rocker, nothing new there the:rotfl::jHOME
