My car has failed its MOT, lots of niggly things not surprising in what was an exceptionally cheap car 7 years ago. 4 new tyres, a new headlight and brake light (I knew about these.) Anyhow I'm waiting for the garage to give me a full quote.
Whilst my car is in for repair, I've been getting taxis to work - no other way of getting there with the nursery.school drop off, so that's been costing £6 a day.
I've been walking home 4 miles, with my three year old in a buggy, the other two go to school near home. The 4 miles wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't up a steep hill most of the way back. Knocked 15 minutes off my time today and feeling much fitter.
Whatever I do I cannot seem to weigh less than 11 stone, but I am determined to start walking more. Around 2010-2011 I had a petrol budget of £20 to last three weeks, and regularly walked 20 miles a day with a double buggy to neighbouring towns for something to do. I wasn't much thinner then, possibly a stone less but I was A LOT fitter. I think I kid myself that because I teach PE twice a week I'm getting lots of exercise:rotfl:HOME

It's been typically very busy these last couple of weeks. Parents evenings until 8pm last week have almost finished me off.
I've started the Christmas shopping and only have my children to buy for. £220 spent so far. I've got a small family so don't need to buy for loads of people only 11, but because there's not many of us I feel a 'need' to spend more per person than some. I've literally got two parents, one grandma, a sister and my own children as family.
I'm close to my family so I like to spend as much as I can, rather than as little as I can get away with, and that's how it is for me.HOME

Have been away much longer than intended. Had a light bulb moment on the 18th December about me and the ex and I've moved on emotionally. He basically said he didn't want to live together ever again. Anyway having not dated since I was 17, 14 years have started Internet dating. Haven't worked up to meeting anyone new yet, but have reconnected with a few from school. As ever the ones who are chasing me, I don't like. There's two I like, i used to go to school wth them both but one has a secret wife, so he's off limits. The other just doesn't seem interested.HOME

In fairness I contacted him on fb and we were chatting and I really liked him so I asked him to meet for coffee to catch up. We were really good friends doing 6th form but when I told a mutual friend she told me he was married he conveniently forgot to mention her in the hours of talking. I've not met up with him.
Dating is a logistical nightmare, I can't even go to the gym due to the kids. I have hem 7 nights a week but although the ex seems to be having the life of Riley. Dating, hols with friends, gigs, festivals, nights out, spare cash there's no point in being bitter. Those things wouldn't replace the happiness I have with the girls. It seems very superficial. I don't blame him though as a single guy living alone it's exactly what I'd do.HOME

I've kept to one of my new year resolutions more weekends away. I'm going to Edinburgh for a weekend in march. Hope it will be warmer than Scarborough was in Jan.
Been off work two days as r is poorly, her dad is having her tomorrow so back to work for me.
Trying to keep up with the onkine dating I committed to as part of another new year resolution. So far have had four ask me for dinner. I have found myself making excuses not to meet them need to get over this mental block. Have met a nice academic on match, have Google him in his day job at Sheffield uni he seems very genuine so hoping to meet him not sure when as have kids 7 nights a week but really trying to talk myself roundHOME

Meeting new people isn't really as bad as people think, if anything is quite easy because the way I look at it is if they don't like you or you don't get on so what, you didn't know them before and you won't after so nothing lost. Only let the things you can control affect you beyond that....you can't control it so don't let it bother you.
If there was one you liked enough you would make the time, its not easy with kids and it never will be but you have to step back at some point from just being "mum" and have your own life too.

I do agree with you but I have no local family and their dad doesn't want evening contact so it is harder as I'd need to pay for a babysitter and find One! I certainly agree on the if you don't like them nothing lost. The academic has emailed 4 times today iv just replied so here's hoping i manage dinner over the weekend with him.
Onto money saving just paid for brownie sleepover treated dd2 to tea from Marks . My lovely aunt has got in touch about a friend of hers doing the double glazing on my house and she's offered to come round while he quotes as I struggle to be in due to work. Cannot wait to get the house finished.HOME
