Work colleagues don't have to be your best mates, just be polite at work and don't meet up outside of work. Sounds like she might be a bit odd.
I, too, am concerned for the dog. Buying a specific breed and colour instead of adopting is disgusting. I think in the movie mentioned SWF she kills the friend's dog.0 -
I think it is a bit creepy, it's like she wants to be you!
I think you should distance yourself little by little, and don't go into much details about anything, certainly not things that mean a lot to you. Once she is less impressed by you, I reckon she will latch onto someone else, and your problem is over.0 -
She's mirroring you
I'd just stop telling her stuff - or change it in the important detail - the green pixie cut is a bit unkind though

Long bright blue wig it is, then...I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I think she wants your life! you can take it as a compliment - or find it creepy. I find it creepy.
the thing is - never ever mention anything you are buying, or doing - or if you do, make it different enough that it never looks as if one is copying another.
for example - if you are buying a new sofa - tell her its a blue two seater - but buy a brown three seater (after she has bought the blue one). if you still want her as a friend that is. personally, I think I would be seeing less of her outside work as I HATE it when people do that to me!0 -
I feel sorry for her, shes a bit of a saddo and quite clearly has no confidence to make her own choices.
If I were you I would try not to tell her too much, in too much detail, be a bit vague,
introduce some more friends into the group, it will feel less intense.
Dont be always so available, so that she becomes dependent on you..what a shame for her poor girl no mind of her own, she must be lacking in self esteem.0 -
Then last night....she mentioned her and her hubby are looking at renewing their vows. Lovely I said. They are looking at doing it the same month we get married this year and at the same small hotel we are getting married at....that she had never heard of until I mentioned it to her.
This is very weird! I'd be creeped out!Haha I have now, as of the wedding thing as she did ask me what our holiday plans were x
Tel her you're going to the Isle of Sheppey for a week and then laugh when she books it... we went on a Sun holiday last year, God it's a dive! :rotfl:0 -

thanks for all the advice guys, I appreciate it.
In regards to the dog, there is no need to be concerned - they are well looked after and cared for. It's just that she bought it impulsively and it's a dog I've wanted....buy hey ho.
We are actually going on a Sun holiday in a few weeks and I mentioned this to her before all this weirdness came out, but I never mentioned where. She's posted on good ol' FB this morning that she has booked a superior caravan site about an hour from where we live. Lol.
I am going to dye my hair black again and get it cut very short for the summer too
:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
At least she hasn't booked the same park at the same time! Hope you enjoy your holiday anyway, Sun holidays are great! We've done loads and they've all been nice, even the Sheppey one when we escaped the hell hole of an island and ventured into Kent, which is lovely btw!0
