Well done El!
Re. SAS vs. daylight bulbs - inlaws got daylight bulbs for their new downlights and far from making the place feel bright and 'natural', they created a very stark effect. Not convinced that I'm a fan, although they'd be great for indoor gardening0 -

TBH I'm at a loss as to how I managed to do so well, the exam was easier than I expected but I really didnt think I would get more than 70% max, so it is strange.
I use this one http://www.philips.co.uk/c-p/HF3330_01/golite-blu-energy-light
ok a much older and cheaper version ( think I paid £170 for it) I did need at when I was doing night shifts but am no longer doing night shifts so didnt think I would need it.. but I may just well do ... thanks for the idea as it is something I hadnt thought about.0 -

Hey all, long time no see, have been busy with the uni, I am much more focusing on which branch I want to go into now, where as before I was concentrating on dismissing the things I didnt think I would enjoy which certainly helped me narrow it down, so the decision was easier to make.
It is a long way off still and in order to get to where I want to I have to have 5 years post reg experience in another certain area before I can even try for the area I fancy, so will be researching and trying to get the experience required so that I can get a role in the area I want.
Got some more paper results in 80% this time, which once again I was flabbergasted at as many many failed this one, it was also on the back of two not very good results just passes 45% and 48%. ( the 45% one was due to other student issues)
So uni is going ok, I have a huge exam on in the middle of May, it is the equivalent to finals in other courses ( except its half way in ours) So I should be studying, and I keep trying to study but opportunities for studying right now are not happening so I am panicking about the exam, what will be will be though and I will get there.
In other news, and the reason for posting, our mortgage is now below £10,000. I was trying to stay nice and calm about it, I knew it was coming up but I was thinking yeah yeah its just another hurdle, but I am not going to deny it, when I saw the figures were less than £10k I did feel a huge sense of excitement and peace, less panicky and more in control.
I have been continuing to save the money into the pension and I am due to up the payments again will need to go and do that in fact.
We dont have much other savings ready to hand ( although we are still offset which is the main thing) as I dont want the temptation of spending it, I dont feel I am still in control of how to have savings and not spend them, I need to get in control of this if I am going to retire early and have some savings, but I have noticed that the temptation is to spend.... So any suggestions on how to deal with Tilly tidies once the mortgage is gone so that I cant just spend spend spend would be gratefully received
Have to admit I am shocked at the death of Prince, I did like him quite a bit and as per usual didnt realise how much you miss something till you hear it again then realise how you wont hear anything new0 -
Oh and Mr El and myself finally went away in our caravan, it was amazing, just what the dr ordered, we went to Invermill near Dunkeld, as I wanted to walk through Birnam wood ( Shakespeare fans may recognise the name
) we rested, walked along the Tay visited Dunkeld partook in the local hospitality and rested some more, was brilliant just to touch base with each other again.
For our summer we have plans for Glencoe, Eilean Donan, Skye, Harris, Lewis, Fort Augustus, Culloden and Aberfeldy ( or maybe Kenmore) till then it will be wee weekends away0 -
