Oh you really turned it around! Sorry you had that experience El, but what a wonderful day it looks like you had *today* :)

That name, Chatelherault, sounds like it comes from the French? And did you see those wooden statues (I just googled :o)?

It is French :) ... it was the dog kennel of the Duke of Hamilton ... His hunting lodge so to speak ... he had a zoo there as well

The woods are just so peaceful to walk through and your right just what we needed

And yes I have visited the wooden statues

They have 700 year old Cadzow Oaks there .. and a few less known secrets which I think you in particular would very much appreciate :)

Just what the Dr ordered tbh :)

Oh my .... that sounds wonderful (and very, very interesting :) ). I'll definitely be using the cat sitting stuff to come up there next year - I'll actually be east of Edinburgh this May coming, but that's the wedding, and every day is spoken for already.

I'm off now ... sleep well xxx

We love seeing ancient trees, maybe another thing on the itinerary for a trip 'up north' :)

Aye they are special... Dalziel house at the RSPB centre also has a tree known as the covenanter tree

http://www.ninjahippo.co.uk/the-covenanters-oak-tree-motherwell/ which also has some lovely Japanese gardens ... nothing like Heligon garden but good for a wee walk about if you've had a big lunch :)

I came home and drank wine to recover!

No toast to ladies at mine as it was a bit different, to be honest I hate the stuff folk put on fb about "when women say x they mean..." and jokes about men being rubbish about stuff so if I challenged it each and every time I'd be exhausted. Resolution for 2016 should be "be less bothered" for me.

I tend to think when I see those things ... that tells me all I need to know about you ... this was like that only it was the old crude jokes even Les Dawson wouldn't attempt ... grrrrr

I did put it down to a generational thing as well the rest of them are over 70 and maybe for them that is what they are used to so think it's normal ?
