Thanks Z ... hope everyone has had a good time :)

We went to London town and saw Lion king and Miss Saigon with the aunty to see how she manages planes etc, Edinburgh was a pleasure, the special assistance services were very good, the Gatwick side ... well we had one person that was good but the other 4 not so good, but it couldve been much worse tbh and we got home in one piece.

So now that we are back home we will have to get stuck into the finances so that we can get on top of it all.

I will need to broach the subject with Mr El soon, I keel trying but he comes out with a mixture of live for today we dont know whats ahead of us and I cant wait to retire ... Not quite figured out how retirement is to be paid for if we dont get on top of the finances but he seems unwilling once again to sort this out, this is usual behaviour from him and tbh its been an ongoing battle for me over the years, yes we are doing much better than we have ever done and that is mainly in thanks to me pushing ... but it does get tiring being the one leading all the time

So the conversation went something like this

Mr El ... you know Mrs El I cant wait till were on holiday and travelling and seeing the world

Me ... Yep me too it will be fun, hope we can afford it

Mr El ... och that will be no problem once the mortgage is paid off we will save then

Me .... oh are you Kezia now ( Scottish readers will get that reference)

Mr El ... And why would I be Kezia

Me .... Well ... you have already stated that once the house was paid off you wanted to put the money towards improving the house and getting a new car etc ... so it cant be spent twice ... Unless your Kezia obviously

Mr El ..... ok then after we have done the house and bought a new car

Me .... but that is gonna take us atleast 10years to save for as you want a good kitchen and bathroom etc ... and I plan on retiring 15 years after qualifying so we will only have 5 years to save 8 years of my wages plus extra to go on holiday etc with

Mr el ... oh i'm sure you will find some money some how

Me ... nope not been able to do that for a long long long time ... so we either need to adress this issue soon or accept we wont really have a good retirement

Mr El .... well i'm sure something will turn up

    and there the conversation ended

later on though Mr El started going on about saving money, look Mrs El we dont really need x.y or z this month we can cut back a bit

so maybe the talk worked who knows ... but what I do know is in a short while I will need to have the talk again ... and so it will continue

Wow your OH is an optimist. At some point sometime something will turn up!! I think we should send him into battle with someone who can really argue continually forever. .....and ever.

Yep...nothing for it.....send him down to chat with my dad! :rotfl: :rotfl:

It always does. And very occasionally it doesn't make things dire...
