Its so long since I had to think about the difference - probably when I was at HIgh school - which was not today nor yesterday, as I usually just have plain flour or SR flour, I had forgotten what the differences were!Every days a School day!0

I was planning on making parkin today,but I've just discovered that I don't have any bicarb,which the recipe needs.Can I use baking powder as a substitute,and if so,would I use the same quantity (1 teaspoon)?
I also have cream of tartar,but I don't think that it would work on it's own.
