Nikks, I have been speaking to quite a few of our book borrowers lately.

It would appear that the rush is on for Brits to see Cuba before it turns into something way more American. It's one of our top issuing travel guides at the moment. I spoke to our travel book buyer about it a couple of months backs and all of the big guides have been/are being rewritten to take account of the changes.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Trust me, it's possible to live a long life on such a diet :)
It's also a very freeing existence as you don't have to waste time shopping and thinking about what to eat.

    BOOK IT!

I think sliding patio doors are often surprisingly heavy. On the back I think you will need to match existing windows/doors look rather than have a stable door.
    I think....

Yeah, I've wanted to for a while; been talking about it for over a year... then they stated lifting sanctions so it seemed like a good idea to go sonner rather than later to see it before it changes too much.

That and as people have pointed out - who knows what the future holds, might as well go whilst I am in a position to do so.

I've tried self-sabotaging - putting off calling them until it was too late, but maybe I should just concede it's a great idea and I should go for it. And I bought annual travel insurance last week. Went for incl. US/ Caribbean just in case...

Thanks for the encouragement everyone :o

I've put off many things until it's too late, and it seems the best policy is to do it and deal with it afterwards.

    May explain a lot....

I have posted that OH is suffering acute claustrophobia. Especially on flights.

He has unavoidable travel in his job.

Today he is on the road to a solution; he has been referred to the Priory. Our expense, but worth it.

Its only money. Looks like my reduction in Physiotherapy is not going to lead to a reduction in Healthcare spending this year.

Just phoned and paid the vets + cremation bill. £1100.
We have insurance which will cover some of it.

Our vet practice does not wait for insurance companies to settle. How do people without healthy cash reserves manage? Presumably credit cards.

I found a vet who liases direct with the insurance company...plus they are blooming good.

When Tizzy had to be put to sleep, they even told me not to worry about doing the paperwork until the next week so that I could go home and cry alongside giving us a wonderful card and seeds to plant to remember her by.

    I don't have a credit card.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Sooo... after procrastinating for Great Britain, this evening I phoned up the holiday company I've been looking at re Cuba.
Ideally want to go pretty soon as it seems to be recommended as the best time to go. Website was showing possibly places but when you clicked on the link it brought up a message saying to call them. Been doing that since the beginning of Jan.

Turns out they have one place on my first choice tour at the time I wanted. Eeeek. Wasn't prepared for that! Was expecting to just kick myself for not booking ages ago.

They're holding the place for me until end of the day tomorrow. My head is telling me it's not very sensible as it's a lot of money (and I should probably be spending on the house, starting to save for the works I want to do, paying the mortgage etc etc).
Kinda feels like it's meant to be though. And if I have to live off beans on toast for the next few months then so be it (or maybe I'll get a taste for rice and peas).
At least I have to make a decision imminently so I can't overthink it all much longer!

    You only live once.....

In the words of my parents "Do it now while you still can, you never know what is around the corner"

They planned for many trips away for when dad retired, he retired and firstly had a heart attack within the first year and then just as he was getting back to full health and they were starting to plan again, he had a major stroke.

It's why my parents are paying the lion share of our Cuba trip, they want to see us do something special as a family while I still can.

The smoke alarm has shrieked into full alarm mode for the third time this week - all in the middle of the night. I've been awake since 3:10 as a result.

!!!!!! is wrong with it. It's not doing the beep when the temp drops that it did when the batteries were low, it's springing into full chorus.
