My favourite sort of holiday is a road trip and I don't think that would work so well as a foursome.
We want to do it in a London taxi someday, which is a bit of a weird dream, but you only live once.
Again, I don't think a foursome would work on it so well.
That looks really dodgy, and Michaels should behave💙💛 💔0 -

I knew a bloke that claimed that he did a road trip to Spain from the UK in a black cab and when he got to Spain sold the black cab with enough profit to pay for the entire holiday! No idea if it's true or not.0 -
I've been reading recently about how the number of foods we eat is falling dramatically. Even eating olive oil is becoming unusual across the world. We eat about 5 animals/fish and about 15 fruit and vegetables and for the 6/7ths of the world that is middle income or rich that is 85-90% of what we eat. We are rapidly becoming a world whose only fat/oils consumed are palm oil and butter.
The remaining 1/7th that are genuinely poor eat whatever will grow where they live but that number is shrinking fast.
That's scary. The thing that surprises me is how much foods that we ate growing up are no longer staples. Without wishing to sound like John Major, I love peas... why does nobody like peas anymore? And rhubarb, and chops. Some I can understand on health grounds, like lard, but olive oil?
Plus of course there is no such thing as seasonality. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I did London to Paris with 10 black taxis and spent a week there, driving around. It was huge fun.
We put the meter onto get there. If I recall, it was about £650 in 2001.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I wouldn't do it for the fares, but purely because bulletproof running gear meets 6ft rear load space = (bed).
The Nissan 2.7 diesel paired to an (I believe) Isuzu gearbox on something that's designed to do 200 miles every day for 20 years can't be a bad bet for reliability, surely?
Only modification apart from the bed would be tinted windows in the back, for obvious privacy reasons and a flip seat in the luggage area.💙💛 💔0 -
Morning all. I like peas, rhubarb and chops. And olive oil but not lard.
Freezer currently packed (all three of them) so this week's menu plan is all from freezer, just buying some garlic bread today as I'm too lazy to make it.
Today: meatballs & pasta, garlic bread
Tomorrow: roast pork dinner
Monday: KFC style chicken dinner
Tuesday: out
Wednesday: Lasagne
Thursday: chorizo & scallop linguine
Friday: Slow cooked chicken thighs with riceSpend less now, work less later.0 -

I like peas , Rhubarb and chops. Has made me think I must plant more rhubarb crowns, our crop was almost non existent last year. Late and spindly. My favourite meal is lamb chops, new potatoes and peas. Simple but eaten on the most important occassions.
Jan 9th 1988 cooked by my father-in-law, assisted by my mum,at our house, on the day we brought our newborn daughter home from hospital.
June 18th 2003 cooked by my husband, eaten on a tray on my lap as I lay on the sofa. My 43rd birthday and the day I came home following emergency CABG
We are having a party here later this month as one of a few things to mark my rehab, thank local family & friends for their support. Writing this has made me think I will serve potatoes, lamb chops and peas.
Olive oil used here and the recent introduction of rapeseed oil. Lard rarely used, although I do use it for hotwater crust raised pies. Have switched back from margerines to butter for cakes and pastry.
All recent changes informed by media reports of the harmful effects
pf heating sunflower oil and the make up of margerines. I understand butter and where it comes from. Rapeseed oil seems to be the least worst, until someone tells me different.0 -
Not for every holiday, but for some, I like the dynamic of being away with friends rather than as a simple couple. What do other NP do?
We used to holiday with another family when the kids were younger. Managed it for 5 consecutive Summers. The kids were more compatible than we were, so the adults made a real effort to make it work.
We have also had a weekend away with friends, that was OK. Though they haven't suggested a repeat, so not sure how they found it.
Years ago there was talk of a family trip to centre parks with OH's siblings and families, but BIL on one side was not keen and SIL on the other started talk of pre-planning meals, so we all reversed out.
We have thought of taking certain friends to our holiday flat, but friends who did the same say that leads to an (un) orderly queue of other friends expecting a similar invitation!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. There used to be a whole group of us going on holiday together back in the late 80s, early 90s. One year, our party numbered over 20, you can imagine how many tents, trailer tents and small caravans that was.
Since then, it has tended to just be my parents and us with others coming to stay in my parent's van for a few days while we are there. We don't stay in the same accomodation though, god no, me and mum would probably end up falling out if we did plus we also don't do everything together whilst away, they do their thing, we do ours and occasionally we all do the same thing. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
