Our new printer cost $8 (£4) and came with ink. You have to have very low costs to be cheaper than me.

You were done, our duplex laser printer was free and they threw in a second printer which I sold on ebay for £30 quid. It has done about 3k pages but is now saying toner low.
    I think....

But ... did you have to buy a £500k house just so you're mixing with the sort of people that give expensive things away?
    :)

I don't think you need an expensive house to shop from ebuyer.com?

Can I put you in charge of the UK budgetary team for the EU?

You get to keep 0.1% of the savings in our contribution you achieve :)

I was feeling smug because DD1 thought the tablet/laptop combo I got her for xmas cost 400 quid not the 99 I paid for it....until she and DD2 said that given the budget for presents was now so much higher they felt fine coming to me with a very long list of birthday presents....
    I think....

Fiddling with the family tree... (OCD). It's very hard when a Mary Ann marries and has a child, Mary Ann. You'd think you're OK with the boys.... but then a son marries a Mary Ann. Then another son marries a Mary Ann.... and has a 2nd wife named Mary Ann. Especially when the surname's VERY common.

Suddenly you have FIVE Mary Anns all in the same village, all with the same name. Should one of them get done for poaching or fighting, say, you'd never know which one it was unless the papers gave more details (e.g. wife of ... or aged X ...)

One of those five was 'attacked in the street', just a neighbour-spat really, settled out of court. Luckily the papers reported it as "wife of ..." so it was easy to spot which one. Also, on that date, there were only two in existence.

About 10 years ago it was common for corner shops to charge you to make photocopies of documents, 4p a copy then it went up, and they'd have a big sign outside with the price.

Don't see so many signs like that now; is it still a thing? Or have cheap 3-in-one printers done away with that need?

We have several shops in our town centre who will print things out for you (plus photocopies of documents)....they got a lot of business from us when the two boys needed things printed out for their GCSEs and A levels.

Youngest doesn't need it anymore, he gets print credits at college.

Edit - we do have a 3 in 1 printer but the cost of the ink cartridge is too high to justify keeping it running for the amount we print, even with using the shop above, it was still cheaper than buying a new cartridge. In fact, it is probably cheaper to just buy a new printer each time the cartridges need to be replaced....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

No, it's next generation entitlement logic.

Nothing challenges this more than the "first car" debate ;)
