I see that, when it actually comes to voting, rather than talking to pollsters, the Iowa electorate has spurned the obnoxious Mr Trump. Thankfully! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Is there a business opportunity there? Are there lots of people without printers who need to send the occasional letter?
Answering my own question.
It turns out that there are a few firms offering this service, eg PC2Paper, who will print and send a letter for you for barely more than the cost of the postage.
i wonder how they make any money? It might just be a cottage industry, with people doing this manually and earning less than minimum wage. Or it could be a massive print fulfilment company that just feeds this into their automated system. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

This is one of the modern problems to finding little businesses. You realise that your little idea can only really be operated as a part of a bigger/better equipped business.
Even "I know, I'll start a sandwich round" can easily be trumped by a local sandwich shop and/or bakery, or an existing cafe kitchen etc.... who are just expanding their offering and have no additional overhead costs or start up costs... and have a head start on marketing.
Taking a quick look at PC2Paper, I think it's sleight of hand. I don't think any physical documents ever exist, none are physically posted, none pass from a postman into a letterbox. They're just "looks like a letter" delivered online.
"recieve real postal mail and read it online"
That's very "seems to say one thing, but ends the sentence appearing to say something else. And they can't even spell!
Ah, I've changed my mind. You can receive real mail and they scan it so you can read it online.
And, yes, you upload a letter and they print it out on your (headed) stationery.
Yeah, just a big fulfilment centre. No humans are used.
A 1 page letter is 63p for postage, total cost 89p.
I can already think of two HUGE markets they're missing out on .....0 -
Our new printer cost $8 (£4) and came with ink. You have to have very low costs to be cheaper than me.0

That's only one company. I found another company that will send a one page letter second class for only 39p + VAT (presumably only in bulk). I assume that they get very, very low postage rates, and they must have the process automated.
Anyway, PN, I apologise. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
About 10 years ago it was common for corner shops to charge you to make photocopies of documents, 4p a copy then it went up, and they'd have a big sign outside with the price.
Don't see so many signs like that now; is it still a thing? Or have cheap 3-in-one printers done away with that need? There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Got it in one I reckon.
I can buy a laptop with a printer in super expensive Australia for about £100 if I want. That's a couple of days' pay even at the minimum wage for an 18 year old.
My printer cost me less than a beer at my BiL's bar. With a ream of paper that's about the cost of a GnT.0 -

And people still moan at the cost of refill cartridges !
I'm not against this cheap printer model of operation.
Take Epson. They have very nice, clean room labs in Telford producing the ink carts to very high standards.
I'd rather put the value in the stuff produced in the UK, and not the plastic carcass produced in China.0 -

There are many reasons people no longer need to use a photocopier. They can use their 3-in-1, or even take a snap on their mobile phone. Taking a photo on the phone is good enough for a lot of items. e.g. I have received a letter here that should've gone to my sibling, I phoned/read it out and instead of posting it I'll be photographing/emailing it because the physical letter is not important, just the contents.
Add in that those shops would've needed to have the space (by a socket) to run their photocopier + have entered into a contract with the supplying company, an expensive contract for X years ... and add in the problems with paper jams etc etc .... and it's simply too much hassle for the shops. They can make more money from that space by selling Jammy Dodgers.0 -
Wanted Down Under. Today it's the husband's dream new life....
It's usually the videos of family who have them in tears .... this woman's mother was very 'controlling'/manipulative.
She simply said, speaking very slowly and deliberately, "I don't want you to go to Australia. I will be very distraught. I love you very much. Please come home to me. "
Daughter still voted Australia0
