What I do miss is sailing the boat. Maybe one of these years we'll have suitable weather for me to have a sail. At least now Duck is moored off the Sailing Club we can use the launches so it might just be possible. Climbing up from a rowing dinghy into a tossing boat is way beyond me now! :rotfl:

Not your own boat I know, but accessible. http://jst.org.uk/crew-stories/
This is tall ship sailing including people who use wheelchairs.0 -

Mrs McT is an excellent driver and any rumours that she has [STRIKE]crashed[/STRIKE] had unexpectedly close encounters with other vehicles, stationary objects, or wildlife in every single car we've ever owned are entirely spurious.
Might be better to stick to using a car rather than a bike then. Or get good life insurance.0 -
Mrs Michaels generally manages to 'christen' all our cars in some way within a few weeks of getting them but having done it once (touch wood) never does it again on the same car for some reason....I think....0

And you want to get her a motorbike for what... Have you recently upped her life insurance?
I took my new car out yesterday, equipped with L plates and my provisional licence. My responsible adult supervisor was DD. If anyone wants the definitive example of teaching someone to suck eggs, this must be it.
Now she thinks she is a bl**dy driving instructor.0 -

I have found down the years that a small dent on the side of the car makes other drivers rather more keen to make space for you.0 -

Too big a ship for me!Our Duck is 20 foot long, just a day boat. But I do think the whole idea of getting disabled folks onto a big boat is really great.
But it won't last - our government will say if you can do that you should get a job.

My fave car was a bit like that - red Talbot Sunbeam. Sheesh I loved that car! We sold it to a friend's daughter just after we had a new gear box put into it. Hmm, I know I've got photos of it somewhere - might have to try and find them and scan!0 -
I still worry about the economic future of a country that thought the Talbot was a swish name for a car (yes. yes I know that France was involved, but in America they had great names like Cadillac or Chevrolet which sound French in a much much better way).
Or the Mallard was a good name for a fast train. :eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I think it was after one of the founders of the company - bit like Rolls or Royce. Neither of those names sounds particularly great, but the combination worked for the car they built.
And this was the 80s remember! :rotfl:
Edit: or are you too young to remember the 80s?0 -
They all sound like that ridiculously-named East German car the trabant/trout.
I suspect if we developed a space shuttle it would be called the Cholmondeley-Warner or similar.:rotfl:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
