We got WallE lent to us by a friend with a stack when I was just post cancer op. All I can really remember about the film is that it's really short and it makes my tea go cold.

I had a great day at work today. I put a whole load of stuff in the metaphorical out tray and can crack on with what I spent all Xmas hoping to get done.

Oh and as a double result, I discovered that I have an extra week of holiday that I never knew that I had.

I buy absolutely zero coffee per month...or even per year. Last jar I purchased was over 10 years ago.

Tea on the other hand. .....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm like that with sugar. I buy a bag about every ten years. It only gets used if someone comes round and wants some in their tea or coffee.

Leader (I think) of the Womens Equality Party was on Daily Politics just now.

They never ask the right questions.

I want to know why it isn't called the Womens Superiority Party. After all, I am frequently being told women can multitask more ; are more empathetic in management etc.

Putting "superior" in the title would just reflect what most women think! ;)

If you had a boiler that was 22 years old, would you replace it before it dies?

Had BG out today because the CO alarm went off. All quiet now and he can't find a reason, but it has made me think about getting something more efficient.

Probably not at this time of year when it is very expensive but no doubt a newer one might pay for itself in fuel savings...except that newer ones are allegedly designed to last much shorter (5-10 years) than the older simpler ones that could go on for more than 20 years. How much do you spend on gas for that boiler (I believe like Mr Milliband you have 2 kitchens). Would a (for example) 25% fuel saving with a £1000 installed boiler make sense?
    I think....

We have 2 boilers, not 2 kitchens.

This is the main boiler. That services the original parts of the house.

Don't know how much of gas bill is this boiler, but it is only 74% efficient.

New boilers are 91% efficient. So assuming that efficiency is directly related to gas use (?) a £100 a month gas bill would drop to £81 with a boiler swap.

It's worth asking this over on the appropriate board (not sure if it would be under diy, as clearly you can't, or under utilities). I remember my dad choosing a new boiler based on availability of spare parts. So if you can choose one with long term parts availability and reliability, could pay for itself relatively quickly.

As an aside, it astounds me how much more energy efficient things are today. I bought a 30" TV not so long ago and have had light bulbs that consume more power!

Just donated to one of them things. It's in memory of one of my daughter's friend's Mum. Much younger than me I think. They're raising money for a local kids place where the Mum used to work. Except the place is moving, so the memorial will be at the new place. I don't think I explained that very well. (rolls eyes)

Aaarrrggghhh I don't know what else to say about how I feel! I'm 67 and have been past my sell by date since around age 44.
