Just found out I'm entertaining this evening. Any suggestions on what to cook? I'm not inspired.
Salmon.
Oh you lot seem to require extras.
add pesto sauce, stem broccoli, new potatoes.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've never cooked a pheasant. I would be very keen to do that this week.
. Not sure if I'm brave enough to risk my first try on company, but I would on the family.
Kayabiri, do you have a recipe for that or did you invent it?
PN is correct, I am a ready-roller. The dogs don't really shed as they're long haired dogs and I keep them clipped short.
Twozerdog looks more like a baby rottweiler than a king charles cavalier, bless him.
Pie isn't exactly christmassy. I think I'd prefer a beef pie but that will take longer to stew down. Hmm.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sadly, I don't have a recipe.
I only have about 3 or 4 dishes I can make. Spanish chicken and chorizo done in the slowcooker is the other.
I come from a family where hearty Northern food was the norm, but I don't follow this.
On Christmas morn our treat is to have a continental style breakfast : croissants, cold meats, cheeses, olives. That sort of thing.0 -
I'm a bit worried about you actually having a "cleavage" ...............or are you talking about a different part of the body
Isn't it every mans dream to have their own boobs, which they can fondle whenever they want?
Err, strike that. We'd never get any work done.
..."cleavage" was a bit of a strong claim I think. Padding would be more apt.
I am only recently back to the weight I was back then. I probably did have slight moobs developing a couple of years ago. eeks.0 -

.
Isn't that why we get married?
Why would you carry around a pair of boobs all day when you can get a wife to do it for you?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I saw my doctor today (well, one of them!). The conversation went:
Me: "You're looking well."
Him: "Much better now, thank you."
I didn't tell him that it was good that he'd lost weight, and he should keep up the good work.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Even if you take a scenario where the house is perfect and all the food would be shopped for and prepared by professionals and all I had to do was be there and serve it .... I still wouldn't have a CLUE what people "serve to guests".
Not a clue.
As I've not been out and never had people round - and my parents didn't entertain either .... it's not something I've experience of. I watch Come Dine with Me on the telly, which is the closest I've ever been to a dinner party .... a lot of their food's nothing special.
Reading MSE, what people are making/cooking, most of that stuff's alien to me. They use stuff I've never had/seen .... or "funny stuff" like, say, kale. Lots of words I've never seen before often crop up too.
One option would be to see what is selling in the supermarkets, their free magazines often have suggested menus.
Another thing to do would be mooch round the ready prepared fridge sections, so you can see if all the brands seem to have a version of butternut soup, that must be a popular option. Look at the main ingredients then find a recipe online.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I think most would hate me as a dinner guest, I don't like poncy food, I don't like food with a kick or is spicy and if you served me steak with pepper on, I would probably strangle you.
Oh and I am not a lover of veg either....so you could spend ages making perfect asparagus tips and they would be left at the side of my plate. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
