Relatively speaking, yes I did. Thanks for asking GDB
How has your day been?
Will delete: Been having a tough few weeks. People at work with hidden agendas playing games. I would have been very close to quitting if it wasn't for my house. Partially due to the mortgage, but also I love where I live, esp. my neighbours and want to continue with my plans for the house. And not everyone at work is an A hole (won't call them pancake makers... still managed to resist looking that up btw)
This week has been fun though. Spent a few days somewhere not dissimilar to Bournville (probably easy to figure out for those who can remember who my employer is...), being nurtured. Worked out what my purpose in life is (well part of it anyway). And had a relatively good day in the office today.
Plus I've got clean bedsheets tonight (as previously mentioned, one of my favourite things in the world). Have had an evening shower in honour. Even pushed the boat out and epilated my legs to maximise the impact. I'm a little more excited than I should be about crawling into bed tonightAnd it's Friiidaaaaay!

Hurrah for it being Friidaaaaaaay indeed! :j
Pressure of projects meant that I cancelled my leave today, have worked through lunch every day this week and not left the office before it got dark every day except today
Monday morning I burst into tears after the first phone call of the day, and when I went to bed on Monday evening I thought "phew, at least I get a lie-in tomorrow morning as it's Saturday ... ).
Luckily the week did improve in that regard at least.
I'm playing at a friend's wedding tomorrow afternoon, after going to another friend's house for coffee in the morning for their 50th birthday, so that's all really good0 -
Well done for making it to the end of the week
What do you play, Yorkie? (Apologies if I've forgotten)

). It's a PITA, but I work hard for my money (sometimes it feels particularly hard), so might as well. Every penny is a penny that can be spent elsewhere. And it's only me bringing any of them in anyway

Home phone (not that I ever use it) and internet are with EE (currently paying £132/year + 95p/month for fiber) Sky is a cheap package, again haggled down.
Mobiles are with EE (we have 4x £15.99 Sim only packages, paying £35/month + additional usage)
Gas/elec are with Scottish Power (same as I was paying with EDF, fixed until 2017 not last year, + £30 cashback)
Most of the banking is with HSBC (business we pay about £6/month/account for, Premier personal is free, loyalty cash ISAs, few investments + emergency £20k, with rest of savings with Santander/Halifax). Mortgage is with them as they were the best deal we could find.
I think that's about it.....💙💛 💔0 -
I switched broadband last month (BT to sky, significant improvement) and am in the process of switching energy suppliers (first utility to ovo, still don't think npower have properly closed my doomed account down). Also moved car and house insurance providers in the last 6 weeks. And opened a new current account (HSBC). The thing I need to switch is my mobile (been with O2 for over 10 years, on this tariff for about 5

Please stop posting prices. I live in the country of the $7 2kg bag of spuds.
It's a long weekend over here and the weather is starting to pick up nicely at last. We're visiting friends in Canberra. Lovely.
We're going to go to Questacon and Floriade while we're here.0 -

But wages are higher to compensate for it, in many expat-oriented sectors at least. It's a long weekend over here and the weather is starting to pick up nicely at last. We're visiting friends in Canberra. Lovely.

Nice. We're in Serbia for the weekend with friends, flying back on the first flight from Timisoara (which is easier than Belgrade for where we are). Belgrade in on Friday night, Timisoara out on Monday morning is becoming far too regular at the moment.
Unfortunately, not a long weekend💙💛 💔0
