The moon had snuck into view from my bedroom window at about 4am, so I had a little gaze at the pretty colour and went back to sleep.

    Mega headache this morning.

I get headaches when I am sleep deprived. (So I get them often.) They are vile - occasionally developing into full migraines with visual disturbances of one kind or another. Sending sympathy and hugs. hugging.gif

    Absolutely. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'm feeling the physical effects of anxiety again and not sure how to fix it. Wine would help. Positive thought isn't really helping.

I've had trouble with physical effects of anxiety during two seasons of my life - once when I was a newly wed and anxious about LNE's heart condition, which seemed at the time to be worsening and likely to require a valve replacement, and years later during the disintegration of my marriage. Both times the constant nausea was interfering with my eating, just at a time when I needed to stay strong and healthy. Both times I was prescribed beta blockers, which made the nausea and shaky feeling go away without any discernible side effects either mental or physical (for me - may be different for other people, natch). No idea if any of that is relevant to your circumstances, but thought it might be worth sharing.

I've always thought it'd have been good if the UK had been more like the US - where you could get a degree by going to night-school.

That, in my opinion, would've been a better option for people of all locations/situations/ages.

The same for trade-based skills. It seems that you have to have a job/be in an apprenticeship, to learn all skills.... which is a bit chicken and egg. Why should somebody who wants to be a hairdresser not be able to learn it entirely at evening classes, so they could present themselves as a bit knowledgeable to employers. Ditto woodwork. It'd be so handy if evening classes ran that brought people up to "handyman" level of being able to hang things on walls, fit/shave doors, make bookcases etc.... rather than having to have a job and get a full qualification suitable for somebody building whole structures on new build estates.

There seems to be no middle ground any more. You have to either study to be an expert or nothing.

Cost is an issue. If you have £1k/month sloshing around after bills are paid you can consider an evening class. If you've under £100 left after bills are paid you're not going to risk £200-300 for an evening class when you might have a disaster that needs paying for in 3-4 months' time.

Vocational HE as in the former polytechnics, and most FE, including evening classes, have all been ridiculously undervalued in this country. :(

Shudder to think what our exalted leaders think of it.

Hello DG can you do anything physical such as going for a walk? walking in amongst trees helps both OH and I.

One small thing I learnt from mental heath services years ago was to make sure I relaxed my tongue. Move your tongue down in your mouth so that it does not touch the roof of your mouth. It releases tension in your head and neck.

Anyone else been watching 'Hunted'? (Ch4, now). Someone (but more so their dad) is a 'prepper'. Reminded me of Dopester's Dog :)

I'm absolutely shattered, spent the morning making my old car look as pretty as it can be for an old banger ready to sell it.

My brother was going to have it but my sister in law put the veto on it due to the amount of car tax compared to their current one. Doesn't matter that their current one is completely unsuitable for their needs and even more of a banger than mine......

    I hate selling cars!

My daughter sold her car last week. It scrubbed up well. Much to her annoyance I have periodically nagged her to take it to a hand carwash where they also hoover inside. When she gave it a final clean prior to putting it up for sale there was not the ground in dirt that there may have othewise been. She paid £5k for it and got £3k for it. So she had 3 years of very cheap motoring. Sold through Autotrader.

I sold my yaris and OHs discovery through ebay a few years ago. Both went for more than we hoped for. Clean, tidy cars do attract buyers so your prettying effort won't be wasted.

We have evening classes at the school over the road but they are not cheap - 90 for the term of about 10 lessons.

Not sure how that compares to computer dating?

I'm paying £95 for the 10 weeks; I'll let you know about any 'side' benefits in 11 weeks ;)

second the beta blockers. During my late 20' I was a working mum with a small baby, taking professional exams, had a husband with ME and trying to support my brother following the suicide of his wife. Propanalol helped manage anxiety symptoms so that I could function until I actually regained control.

I bought the 4x4 off DW so she could go buy her Beemer.

A couple of weeks later, I asked about the heated seats - did the driver side only heat the seat back.

"Oh, it hasn't heated the seat squab for a while, but I didn't think you were bothered" she replied!!

"Oh okay, but what about the radio. I can't get MW" I said.

"Oh, I never listen to MW anyway" she said !!

    Families eh? ;)

years ago when heated seats were a novelty. Both OH and I loved the heated seats in his then volvo. however I left an unwrapped boiled sweet on the centre console. It melted on a hot day and welded the seat switches into the "off" position. They never worked again.:(
