DS2 was terrified by "where the wild things are" even though DS1 enjoyed it.
One of my Bestsellers when I did the school bookshop all those years ago! :j0 -
Thanks for all the thoughts, I won't persevere, we have tried twice and it is scary to her, to me other things she watches without a qualm seem more scary but I guess that is not the point at all. I'd better not admit to having read them the Hunger Games....I think....0

I have never heard of that book. When I was a kid I enjoyed the Alan Garner books and Leon Garfield.
It was all unreal fantasy escapism but that was what seemed to suit everybody. Actually kids libraries seemed to be full of formulaic serials, about half of them written by the astonishingly prolific Enid Blyton. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Wherever the reward flights take you.
Under normal circumstances that'd be first option, but looked at it, very little available for tomorrow.
Think I may decide to get up in the morning and pack a toothbrush, a credit card and a coin to toss.
5 days of random adventures sounds like bliss at the moment. (but that may be the single malt talking)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

In other news,
DQWD:
I so fervently hope those are secret nuclear missile launch silos under the tarpaulins....
Or at the very least entrances to an 'Evil Underground Lair'.
Yeah... So that may also be the single malt talking.:o“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Yeah. I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you
My cover story is that I put landscaping fabric under the slate and wasnt ready to plant up the beds on Sat so thought I'd cover them in fabric to try to hold back the weeds in the meanwhile.
P.s. Austrian beer isn't a patch on Belgian beer :beer:0 -
We did 3 more chapters but DD2 seems to be struggling in exactly the way you suggest even my telling her it all end swell doesn't help. It is interesting that you could make life and death decisions in your job but find fiction so difficult. I don't know the other two books you mention (beyond all the publicity for the War Horse play) but will check them out. Thanks
I can't listen to the Archers. Too much drama:o0
