In other news, seeing as viva has been successful, I've entered the ballot for tickets to Strictly Come Dancing if anyone else fancies a shot at the ballot.
And we have come a step closer to being allowed to build our own house. Not through the woods as we have the planning committee to convince, but the planning officer is recommending approval. I'm not sure if anyone knows how much heartache we went through last time we tried, but this is amazing news for us and I will take the support of the planning officer every day of the week.
When did I shoot past 20,000 posts and not notice? Gutted. Maybe I should delete some!I think....0 -
Missed the not niceness on the NP thread, sure it didn't really exist.
So decided to travel back up the M4 today rather than tomorrow to avoid all the bank holiday weekend traffic only to hit all the Reading festival traffic.
I take it there has been rain in Hertfordshire? Some guttering seems to have detached itself. sighs.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My children complain I'm a stalker.
They have blocked me from facebook (not that I ever use it).
I do stalk them when they are travelling - go online to make sure the plane landed OK/train arrived - but that's as far as I go.0 -

Sounds great, have you been lobbying the Councillors yet ?
Thank you. I think that we have the chairman on side. The reason he became a councillor was something to do with a planning issue of his own and he has sympathy. He has been very encouraging for a while and calls us 'kids'.
Our local councillor is not a member but says that he doesn't have a problem.
We had eight comments of support from across the district and I will be asking those people to email a copy of their statement to their councillor. I'm on holiday right now (poorly though) but will get my head around exactly who is on it next week. Have until the beginning of October to sort that and our presentation/statement thingy.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

So thinking we had finally sorted the extension roof leaking issues we have had the kitchen family room decorated this week...so of course yesterday when ot tipped down and blew from wsw it started leaking in a new place it has never leaked before....

It's so wonderful to see you being so positive. Some people would be thoroughly fed up with the leaks and the prospect of a long car ride.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
but on the other hand the people who live "over the back" will have a sunnier garden, and it won't end up in their garden (or house!) during a storm.
I bet they're celebrating! When I bought this I was aware of it, of course, but you can only buy one of the houses available right when you're looking .... so it was with deep regret that I bought it anyway. I'd stare up at it every day wishing.... but believing it'd NEVER go. I thought I stood a slim, slim chance that the branches on my side might get a small shave.... It was a delight the day it went and it's transformed my life, light and some house problems0 -

I was either too thick to notice or it passed me by.
Oh well, location x 3 is on and the buyers have said 20 times they will only buy within half a mile of a train station and they just won't listen. Every house they have been shown is further away. Kirsty just suggested that a walk is good for them and he told them to get a scooter!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've been missing that. WDYTYA is on at 9pm, so I changed to bbc1 so I didn't forget.0 -

Blimey, rather you than me!Rail strikes and the falling cost of petrol will encourage up to 50 per cent more people to travel by car this weekend compared to the August Bank Holiday last year, analysis shows.
Train services will be heavily disrupted in the South West if staff at First Great Western carry out threats to walk out for three days from Saturday.

Hope it's not too stressful.0
