Water is free and washing up water is heated by gas at 1/4 the price of the electric that heats dishwasher water plus you use about 1p of washing up liquid rather than 10p of dishwasher tablet.I think....0

Think DS is tired. Explained my triumph of a dinner on the way home. Have finely diced courgette and sliced peopers and onions. Roasted. Also roasted mini chicken fillets with Nandos rub. Handful of salad, choo up some cherry tomatoes and eat the lot as a warm salad.
Have just watched him cut up salad leaves, from the bag. Then he put soy sauce on it in the absence of balsamic which I said he didn't need. Then he put the entire thing in the microwave, salad leaves included.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You place no value on your time?
Sorry. No one who has a properly working dishwasher ever considers doing the washing up.
The last time I had to do washing up regularly, it consistently took 40 minutes. Pardon my French, but !!!! that.
My water is definitely not free. Not free cold and definitely not free hot. Still doesn't matter if it cost £1 a wash. It's going in the dishwasher.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'm not convinced, I'm sure washing up uses a lot of water. Even half a load must compete with a DW run.
Yep, our dishwasher run is almost always on Eco run. Michaels, if you really want me to I can tell you what this uses on water usage at some point. Its definitely better than washing up here, that's for sure!0 -

Egg, milk, porridge, just soak as soon as used, while hot. Are all horrid other wise.0 -
If I had to choose, I think I'd have someone to cook dinner for me. I'd like them to cook like I do (I like what I cook myself). Just not to have to decide what to eat every night, or to have to cook it every night. I'd happily then do the washing up. Well, so long as they cook like I do using the minimum number of pans/ utensils.
Yeah... Think I'm best suited to cooking for myself. Meh.0 -

Whereas, hand-dishwashing I find the worst things are flour-based. Clog up the sponge. I tackle egg, milk and porridge ok - but then I do get them soaking in the sink asap.0 -
Definitely can't be going with running it half full, think of the environment.
DW is also very keen on only running the dishwasher fully loaded. Occasionally, I have to add clean plates from the cupboard before setting it going. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I have no idea what would happen to them. Probably nothing. But I expect to never have to buy pans again in my lifetime, so I look afer them, make sure they are never boiled dry, never use metal utensils in them etc. Owned them for over 8 years so far and they still look like new. Suppose its a matter of principle.
Agree about the metal implements. I never use metal implements in non-stick anything. Some of them have been scratched by other users who aren't as careful, but the DW doesn't seem to have done anything to any of them.chewmylegoff wrote: »We have a Beko dishwasher which cost £199. Everything you put in it comes out clean. Except for stainless steel pans that have had scrambled egg in them.
Mine is also a Beko.I think non -stick pans risk losing their non- stick coating if dishwashered too often on too high a programme. But that is just tough.
Agree about the "just tough" thing.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

We run ours on the max programme. That way the dishes always come out clean, first time.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
