    And from me.

Lydia So sorry Speedy wasn't the right dog for you but the right one will come along at just the right time xx

    Nikkster That's a lovely colour :)

Books......I have got rid of quite a few, but I tend only to buy books I know I'm likely to want to read over and over. Some I daren't let go (i.e. with the idea of buying or borrowing them again if I did ever want to read them again), because they are out of print.

I have some Dornford Yates books, written between the 20s and 40s, and they are very dated but that makes them interesting (realising how things have changed) and sometimes very funny. One of them belonged to my father, and it's falling to bits now, but I treasure it because his hands turned the pages, and I remember the two of us having a chat about the book the first time I read it :) He was so pleased that I'd enjoyed it. I was about 14.

DD told me this week that she would like a stepfather. I said that while I'd like a new man, I'm not sanguine about the prospects for finding a suitable one. She says it's a pity finding a man is so much harder than finding a dog, and that she wishes there were rehoming centres for potential husbands where you could go and pick out the one that you'd like.

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

    Controversial moment!

I say "pah" to these book issues ;)

Try collecting thousands of records! It's not just storage issues.

I have had to reinforce shelving for the sheer weight.

I also hide many records, to make the numbers look reasonable.

Reinforcing a loft space for the additional weight was a touch tricky :)

Oh, back on the book topic...

Why is it that technical books, eg computing, have to be the size of a small suitcase to be considered worthwhile?!

    Get a Lottie Dog :)

The only way ours would harm a bigger dog is if she got stuck in their throat.

Humans are only in danger of receiving a vicious lick :)

So sweet. Maybe she has someone in mind?

There must be a Christian dating site...I know people who have struck lucky on jewish dating sites and that is a far smaller potential group.

My husband has lots of records. We bought boxes for them and he has about eight large boxes! Four of them go on top of our two wardrobes.

    Oops I did it again:
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/money/deals-give-5000-extra-spending-6166764

I can't beleive PN isn't leveraging all my publicity into a deal hunter blog to pay for the NP xmas party.
    I think....

It simply doesn't work for my income/lifestyle.

It works for people who have: high spending, high income, lots of people.

That's why I am suggesting we could work together to boost your income....

Oh yes and my income this year is 3850 (plus 16.2k from the govt)
    I think....

Mine is about that too .... but not the 16.2k :(

As long as you put in 30 hours a week on your websites then you could claim about 1864 if you chose to, plus another 720 via circulating funds through a pension, both tax free.
    I think....
